A couple thoughts.

First, we are talking about Don’s negotiating genius. He got bent over here hard by Pelosi. It was embarrassing watching him stumble through that, he was made a fool big time. His negotiations skills were amateur hour and it appeared he didn’t understand basic functions of passing legislation. 

Second, shutdowns like this cost us all tons of money. If you want to shrink government or whatever this isn’t the way to do it. It would be like cutting off your foot because you had a hangnail.

You're talking about Trump's negotiating genius. I'm talking about the government shutting down, which I consider a good thing. Let them prove how unnecessary most of this sh!t we pay for actually is. 

But, since that's the tack you want to take. What about your boy Obummer's negotiating prowess when he shut down the government? Except he was such a vindictive littecunt that he actually spent money shutting down the side of a road so people who had planned and paid for vacations couldn't stop on the side of a road to take pictures of Mt. Rushmore.

Shutting down the government isn’t the way to get what you want. It ends up costing more and they all come back.

Obama got national health care through Congress. Trump couldn’t get a few billion to get a fence done.

That’s the one that was found to be unconstitutional, right? And the coat of health care has gone up by a lot. We were told it would go down. That’s something to be bragging about.

Obamacare is a great thing.  Millions upon millions covered now who couldn't afford it prior to Obamacare.  They can get preventive care now that they wouldn't otherwise which reduces the overall cost of healthcare.

Let Trump campaign on removing Obamacare please.   That plus abortion will get geriatric Biden re-elected for sure.

That being said- there are VERY few things I admire about Donald Trump but one of those is he seems to have an aversion to Americans dying in war. He’s actually very close to being a pacifist. Thats not necessarily good for our foreign policy (there are times when we do have to take a stand) but as a general rule it IS admirable.

The bottom line:  Yes, millions more people now have coverage, but not because of Obamacare’s “reforms.”  The net reduction in the uninsured is almost entirely attributable to making non-disabled adults eligible for Medicaid—a program designed as a safety net for the poor and vulnerable.  Virtually all of the newly-insured are getting huge government subsidies to underwrite their increasingly expensive coverage.

Taxpayers also are spending hundreds of billions of dollars to provide premium subsidies to roughly eight million people getting health insurance through the exchanges (some of whom lost more affordable plans they had before the law passed).  The combination of Obamacare mandates and the subsidies are fueling rising costs that now are the central political focus.
