Trump and MAGA have said he has been given a mandate in the election taking all three branches of government. Since Republicans hold all the cards (to quote Trump berating Zelensky) let's see them govern without the Democrats. Without the Dems would be awesome..but you have to include without their whining and complaining about everything in the package.
Voltaire 5,316 Posted March 15 Schumer was damned if he did and damned if he didn't. The best play was to provide no votes for it and let a GOP inner-party dispute kill the bill themselves, so he could blame them. When the GOP came together and passed it anyways, he had two bad options. Sucks to be a Dem. They can start another circular firing squad now. I'll be over here putting the crying and angry screams to music, collecting tear drops , and enjoying yet another nice, politically satisfying weekend. The Real timschochet 6,764 Posted March 15 Democrats are having a bitter argument over Schumer’s decision, threatening to primary each other, they seem weak and in disarray. In the end none of this matters. Trump was always going to get his way; he has the majorities and the Dems could have held him up (looking petulant all the while) but not stopped him. It doesn’t matter because in two years there will be an election which will be a national referendum on everything Trump’s doing. The Democrats, for all their faults and missteps, will represent the no vote to those who disapprove. So they’re going to do extremely well. After that it’s a question of producing a candidate to oppose JD Vance. That shouldn’t be difficult.
Hardcore troubadour 15,433 Posted March 15 What in this CONTINUING resolution do the democrats opposed to it disagree with? I heard AOC and after others speak on it, but I didn’t hear any specifics. Doubt I will. Probably just about hurting Trump.

So, I predict, will the American people when they start to notice the effects. https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2025/03/11/politics/government-funding-bill-spending

If your interpretation of events is correct then the public won’t mind no matter how much Democrats might complain. But I think, based on what I have read, that the public is going to see significant differences in real time that affects them directly and they won’t like it. And if they happens all of your assurances, and Trump’s won’t matter.

And if they happens all of your assurances, and Trump’s won’t matter. If this CR were actually anything at all to worry about we would have been hearing about it late last year, and all January and February.....the reason we heard about it recently.....was that the Dems wanted something to show they could stand up to Republicans, well toTrump.....but even then they knew they had been out maneuvered. So the party that has shouted to the sky for years of the evil that is shutting down the government, suddenly flirted with it.....because they thought it could be a political win, but then realized that they would likely shrink their already low popularity. So they stopped pretending the CR they helped create was a problem....and moved on. But do not forget the ease with which they were preparing to do THE THING.....they have always said.....was an absolute evil.......just to gain some political cred.....these are the people you champion here on this forearm

Well like I wrote- you needn’t worry about what I think, or what Dems say. The only way this matters is if regular folks start to feel negatively affected. If they don’t then all of my complaints won’t matter for sh!t.
