They all loved Trump when he was just a wealthy civilian who could contribute to their campaigns. 

But when he kicked in the door to their little club and took over the top spot without owing any of them any favors and not looking to get rich, he had to go. They couldn't have him knowing where the bodies were buried having never used a shovel himself.
