The U.S. national debt is at $34,135,530,482,291 and rapidly growing

Recommended Posts

We should give more money to those Ukrainian thieves. Oh...and 10% for the big guy of course.

...

"This is a warning shot across the U.S. government's bow that it needs to right its fiscal ship," Sean Snaith, an economist at the University of Central Florida, told FOX Business. "You can't just spend trillions of dollars more than you have in revenue every year and expect no ill consequences."

The outlook for the federal debt level is bleak, with economists increasingly sounding the alarm over the torrid pace of spending by Congress and the White House

It's closing in on how many lame, childish and unfunny posts you've created here is July 2017.

I'd take the national debt over that any day.

You don't pay attention much. You should think before you vote. As well as think before you keep pumping chinese flu shots into yourself.

Good question. Republicans don't do anything to address the problem while in power. I think Trump tried but got denied.

Of course it’s a problem. But it can only be addressed by cutting military spending, or Social Security, or Medicare, or raising taxes. Thats it. Those are your 4 choices. You could eliminate everything that conservatives typically complain about and you wouldn’t make the slightest dent.

OR- you could try and grow our economy so that the deficit and debt become less significant. How do we grow the economy? We invest in infrastructure, which Biden has done. We invest in viable new energy sources (see-nuclear fusion) which neither party seems willing to do. And you expand trade by eliminating tariffs, which Biden will not do and which Trump will only make worse.

Trump did not try to reduce spending or address the deficit in any way.

I hate agreeing with you idiots because you focking want to slap-fight about everything and can't give one ounce of credit to Trump.

He didn't try.  He pushed for and got a huge tax cut and he signed the covid bills which both added tremendously to the national debt.

And now he wants us to believe that he will fix it.  Nobody is that dumb.

I honestly can’t recall one proposal from Trump, when he was President, that involved reducing the deficit in any way. You’re welcome to offer one.

I just searched and found dozens of articles about trump trying to reduce the deficit.

So you liars can stop lying. He tried but the Republicans and Democrats love spending too much.

or you could gut the useless fat, starting with the IRS and implementing a flat tax with zero write offs

By October of 2019 the deficit was up 68% from when Trump took office.

Then it of course really kicked into overdrive.

The point being made is we don’t care about the debt. Republicans certainly don’t. It’s all play money until at some point it isn’t any more.

Trump's budget would reduce deficit but wouldn't balance like White House promised, CBO says

Thank you. Thats from his first year before he got his tax cut through, which significantly increased the deficit. And his cuts were insignificant. Trump made no move to seriously address this issue. To be fair, no other President has either.

It's amazing how such an incredably massive problem in this country is mentioned and the liberals just instantly flock in to whine about Trump.

If that doesn't show mental illness, then I don't know what does.

Again.... my point was Trump wanted to reduce the deficit but the Republicans and Democrats don't. I never said he was successful just that he wanted to. You guys jumped all over me, because you are misinformed.

There isn’t enough useless fat that, if it were all removed, would make any difference whatsoever in the deficit or debt. And a flat tax would result in less annual revenue which would only increase the deficit.

I gave you the 5 ways to address this problem. There aren’t any others.

He didn’t. Not in any meaningful way. He wanted to cut a few programs he didn’t like.

Timmy, how are you so wounded by Trump that you need to turn a serious current US problem into a Trump bashing thread?

Why are you liberals so hurt? Didn't you get the president you wanted 12 of the last 16 years? Where's their accountability?

I bet THAT'S what you are trying to avoid.

no it wouldn't you guys b1tch about taxing the rich and all their write offs, a 20% flat tax over 50k annually would generate far more revenue than the current system

cut foreign aid, also its a start.  Reform SSI, reform medicare, reform everything

You need to read through this thread again. I don’t bring up Trump. Trump has been no worse on this issue than any other President.
