Lunatic Alabama Supreme Court: frozen embryos are children

Recommended Posts

No one said the bolded. That’s you making sh1t up.

And it wasn’t just any civil case, it was for WRONGFUL DEATH.

As for the rest, there are certainly many implications from overturning Roe and then in Alabama with that courts ruling. Obviously there are, otherwise Trump and the GOP would never have had to “clarify” that they support IVF

- Sure they did. How many CNN links do you want?

Quote

Rep. Norman says women don’t care that Republicans are going after IVF

- Duh. Wrongful death is a civil statute.

- The only reason they had to clarify is for idiots like you.

I'm as big a pro choice conservative you'll ever find. Have as many abortions as you want. IDGAF. Probably better for everyone if you dont breed.

Then I found out that some states allow clinics, shown right on their websites, that you can come in at 9 plus months and they will essentially help you have a still birth. I mean wtf? What excuse is there that you cant get your chit together and kill it at 6 months?

The amount of republican office holders that are strict no abortion whatsoever are minuscule. Almost all democrat office holders are for abortion at any time.  There are two extremes here. One has way more numbers than the other. Don’t let them twist it.

Man you are stupid.

Your typical civil claim would be for destruction of property. Hey those were my embryos and you destroyed them out of stupidity.

But that wasn’t this case. This case was hey those embryos were children and you killed them.

Alabama Supreme Court said yes.

Only a complete focktard couldn’t see the implications 😂

Nobody cares because nobody was ever in danger of criminal charges.

The real idiot is the one that needed Trump to clarify it for you. Let that marinate.  🤣

Why is it so difficult for some to do a bit of research and reading without having to be spoon fed everything? Let me try and dumb it down for you.

- It was a ruling on a civil suit. It allowed parents to sue the clinics for accidentally destroying an embryo.

- Of the two major clinics in AL one decided it wasnt worth the risk and turned patients away. The other kept going.

- It was never a thing where clinic workers or parents were going to get criminally charged. You were duped if you believed that.

- It was never a Republican agenda item, election issue. You were duped if you believed that.

Now that that I've educated you on the topic, ask yourself who duped you and why you let it happen. You're welcome.

It’s not that they “were going to get criminally charged,” but it could open the possibility.  You know, slippery slopes and all that.  Hence why Trump and others have acknowledged that the legislature needs to clarify it.

Even if it does not impact criminal penalties, it still adds a ton of liability for IVF clinics by adding the precedent for them to be able to be sued for wrongful death, and also specifically suggests additional regulations.  Pages 43-47 of the ruling:

“Justice Cook argues in his dissent that applying § 36.06 and the Wrongful Death of a Minor Act to frozen embryos will have disastrous consequences for the in vitro fertilization ("IVF") industry in Alabama. Although it is for the Legislature to decide how to address this issue, I note briefly that many other Westernized countries have adopted IVF practices or regulations that allow IVF to continue while drastically reducing the chances of embryos being killed, whether in the creation process, the implantation process, the freezing process, or by willful killing when they become inconvenient

For instance, in Australia and New Zealand, prevailing ethical standards dictate that physicians usually make only one embryo at a time

All of these measures protect the lives of the unborn and still allow couples to become parents. Therefore, although certain changes to the IVF industry's current creation and handling of embryos in Alabama will result from this decision, to the extent that Justice Cook is predicting that IVF will now end in Alabama, that prediction does not seem to be well-founded.
These regulations adopted by other countries seem much more likely to comport with upholding the sanctity of life than the prevailing practice of creating and transferring at once many embryos that have little chance of survival and then throwing embryos away after a while. The American states, unfortunately, have not followed the example of other Westernized countries that have regulations that achieve both the protection of life and the promotion of parenthood. Ultimately, however, it is for the Legislature to decide how the IVF industry can help parents have children. The Legislature is free to do so in any way it decides, provided that it comports with the Alabama Constitution, including the Sanctity of Unborn Life Amendment.”

14 states with a full abortion ban now.  21 in total with greater restrictions than before roe was overturned.

Barely anyone supports abortion up until birth.

More lies from the dumbest mook once again.

There are only 7 states that have no gestational limits on abortion.

Late term abortions >21 weeks only make up 1% of abortions.  This 9 month scenario you talk about is anti abortion rhetoric.

Republicans are scrambling now.  It's a big loser for them in elections.

Trump has gone from bragging about getting rid of roe to fire up his base to now pivoting to being more reasonable to appeal to regular people in the general.  Prolly not gonna work.

Abortion and the party of Trump's desire to ban it altogether is what might just save our geriatric, dementia democratic president in the election.

I still think not though.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee said in a memo that candidates must “clearly and concisely reject efforts by the government to restrict IVF,” and many senators and candidates quickly followed suit by issuing statements backing IVF. And on Friday afternoon, Donald Trump posted on Truth Social in support of IVF access.

In fact, in 2022, GOP senators blocked a bill introduced by Illinois Sen. Tammy Duckworth that would have created federal protections for fertility treatments amid concerns that they’d be affected in the post-Roe era.

“The same Republicans who claim to ‘defend family values’ just blocked my bill to protect the right to start a family through IVF,” Duckworth said at the time.

https://www.notus.org/republicans/republicans-donald-trump-ivf

it's clear to anyone with a working brain.

abortion, IVF, contraception, it's all subject to Republican attacks.

Even sex for fun is under attack

But as I said, it's an election loser.

After a few days of Republicans tacit support of the Alabama ruling, they saw the public outraged and moved to support of IVF.

Idiots like horseshite can't comprehend any of this.

So I went and picked  one of those 14 states where your article claims abortion is banned. West  Virginia. They have  Exceptions for rape and the health of the mother. There are three states with a total ban. 7 with no time limits. The extremists are in greater numbers on the left. Read your own article maybe?

There are all kinds of restrictions on the exceptions.  Here is another article that goes even deeper for you.

It's your party, own it.  You vote for abortion bans.  Good luck in November.

They're so full of sh1t.  Same with telling people that you can get abortion right before or even after delivery.  Trump said that.  So focking dumb.

And then calling women who get abortions "sluts".  Come on.  It's clear their agenda.  Pieces of shite.

Oh, it’s only 1 pct? What pct of abortions make up those that or  for rape and incest? When you stop concerning yourself with those for rape and incest I’ll stop concerning myself with those that are late term.

Third Trimester Abortion Washington

Founded May 1, 1992 by LeRoy and Mary Lou Carhart, our mission is to provide late term abortions in Washington for those who dont have access, contraception and routine medical care to women and men in a compassionate, comfortable and personal environment. We recognize the needs of each client as an individual, while attempting to keep costs as affordable as possible. Every member of our team has pledged to make your experience with us one we would want for our sisters, our partners, our mothers and our daughters. And we want you to know, you are not alone. One of every three women of child bearing age in the United States will have or has had an abortion.

We provide assistance to women in Washington with late term abortions, third trimester abortions, abortion after 27 weeks, maternal indication abortions, fetal indication abortions, and birth control.

Abortion After 27 Weeks Washington

Facts About Induction Procedure (25 Weeks And Up):
This is normally a 3 day procedure depending on your medical history. First, an ultrasound will be done. This is done by passing a microphone-like instrument over your abdomen (belly) which measures the size of your pregnancy. The final decision as to whether the induction can be done will depend on your medical history, physical exam, lab tests, and the doctor’s evaluation. On the first day the cervix is slowly opened with plastic or metal rods, each one slightly bigger than the last. When the cervix is as open as possible, small sponges (laminaria) that take up water from your body will be placed; they swell and continue to open the cervix overnight. The next morning the laminaria are removed and new laminaria are placed. This is repeated as needed until the cervix is adequately open. The induction abortion ends with the start of labor and delivery of a stillborn.
