Oh, so you’re saying the amount of got-aways hasn’t dramatically increased? The CPB officers that you guys love now, despite them whipping people and putting kids in cages, disagree. Vehemently.

Of those people arrested, only 47 percent were removed as of December 31, 2021, which includes people arrested by Trump and removed by Biden, and 52 percent were released into the United States.

Under Biden, DHS made over 5 million arrests in its first 26.3 months, and it removed nearly 2.6 million—51 percent—while releasing only 49 percent.

I know what more means and the got is higher...but you know what is also higher...the percent removed...HIGHER UNDER BIDEN.

Why, the Dems/Biden administration pretty much put everything that the GOP asked for in the immigration bill --- we worked with the GOP, we have acknowledged the problem.  It was the GOP who walked away from that bill.

You know what sounds disingenuous,  the GOP screaming about nobody doing anything about the problem then refusing to do what they wanted.

Democrats used the entire concept as a bludgeon, and to pretend today......that suddenly they care......after years of throwing labels at people who objected......only because it threatens their power......pardon me if I am apprehensive about their intentions

Your apprehension of their intentions is laughable while not casting an eye at the GOP; who for years of demanding action be taken when given the opportunity to get pretty everything they said they want, suddenly don't want it...because it threatens their ability to use it on the campaign to get power.

And let's not kid ourselves, the GOP leaders don't care about this issue anymore than it gets them votes.  Want to hazard a guess who hires more illegal workers via party affiliation?

I remember all those illegals living in hotels and community centers under Trump. You have to ignore that to believe this.

Trump had a handle on the border.  Biden opened it up purely for votes, just like the student loan forgiveness.  Sanctuary cities now don't want to be sanctuary cities.  Dems bring it up & want it to change now because of an election.  Repubs reject it because of an election.

Biden & team caused the cluster fock & now wants to blame someone other than who caused it.  For once admit team blue caused this crap & move on.

Got it now?

Wait a second......the GOP have been labelled as racists for attempting to deal with it......so now, you are going to pretend that all that name calling for being forceful with the border was just a show?

Here is the problem you are up against.....Democrats oppose Republicans on principle....not policy.

What this means is that when Republicans try to secure the border, we get theatrics and drama about how horrible and racist they are.....later, when Democrat policy produces the inevitable consequences (as it is today) they pretend to care.....because now its about votes and power......so they produce poison-pill legislation, misnamed of course, and when Republicans do their job and oppose it....since its crap....the Democrats then pretend.....its those guys....

The simple truth here is that had Biden done nothing....literally nothing....when he came into office, we would be better off today.....

So pretend as much as you want that its Republicans....and later....should Trump get elected.....and he shuts that border down again....you can go back to vilifying him all you want for it....and pretend you cannot remember how badly Democrat policies were....or maybe just that it was Republican policies or something....I honesty dont care.....just so long as the ruinous Democrat policies go away.....

We should vote Democrat because Alejandro Mayorkas tells us the Democrats are the party that takes border security seriously.

As opposed to Magas that don't want to address the border so they can use it as a political ploy.

I am going to presume, for the moment, that you know this is not true but are just angry at those who do not share your political ideology and like to villainize them....

Don't forget that these are the same folks which argue that using percentages when discussing crime is racist.

Pretty sure no one here has argued that.  There is a righty poster that has posted in this thread that wrote “Rate. Lol” when discussing murder statistics though, what an idiot.

Overall I’d agree that these numbers are misleading, they’re not lies though.  Still, I think that while they are framed to sound better than they really are, they are evidence that there isn’t just an “open border.”

Rate. Lol. Oh look, murders went from 100 to 95. That’s a rate decrease of 5 pct!  Let’s celebrate! The rate went down! You still live in a dangerous shitt hole, but hey, the rate!

Permission to be anecdotal?

If I were to say.....be a bouncer at a bar.....and my boss asks me why I do not remove as many people as the other bouncer, he removes three times as many people as I do....

My shifts are on Mon-Thur......i get 1/3 the traffic he is getting during his shifts on Fri-Sun......so am I working less? Not really, its just proportional to the opportunity....

You get it, OP is a blithering idiot. Even his liberal buddies are steering clear of this one.

It is in the OP.

Quote

During the Trump administration, DHS made 1.4 million arrests—what it calls “encounters”—in fiscal years 2019 and 2020 (24 months).

In other words, the Trump DHS removed a minority of those arrested while the Biden DHS removed a majority. Biden managed to increase the removal share while also increasing the total removals by a factor of 3.5.

I make my point more clearly above......if Biden let in three times as many people, then sure he deported three times.....but I think he let in more than that....

I never argued that(but percentage wise, he has deported more).

I only started this thread in response to the other immigration thread and because I knew the headline I copied would cause heads to explode.  Entire thing was factually accurate.

As for "Biden let in three times"...that is a completely different thread and argument---the why the numbers have increased dramatically.

It is not, if you allow in three times as many immigrants.....and then deport three times as many immigrants.....you are simply addressing the problem you created......but.....you are cost the taxpayer more money for your mistake....

My thread header is incorrect--I should have said 3.5 times as many people.  So yes, that was wrong.  The article and numbers posted were correct.  I'll fix the thread title though.

ETA: Title fixed. Now everyone should be happy.

And again, he is doing at a higher percentage, why aren't you all happy about that?

I am not questioning your numbers.  But I think there is more to think about here. And in the end its an unforced mistake, that people such as you and I end up paying for.....

Not if it's the one who's existence he barely even acknowledges.  He would welcome that.
