No.  Just because he does well with another team doesn't mean he would've been that good for the Bears.  I'm a firm believer that if the Bears drafted Mahomes he would just be another average QB.  The Bear's ownership is trash.

Sad. :(

Bears really should have fired the GM and coach this off-season and started entirely new.

That's the cycle I was referring too.  A team can not be successful doing that.

It's helped the Packers be successful for much of the last 30 years!

Why? What's wrong with Poles?

You tell us.  You guys are the ones who dont trust him to take a QB when he has the pick of the litter.

I miss the Lovie Smith era.  I would have loved to see Fields on those teams.

I like Poles.  If he thinks Williams is the right pick then I'll support it.  If I were him I would trade that pick.  I'm not a GM and for good reason though.

You have said youd like to not take a QB at 1 overall.  Hawk has now said it.

Have you guys not?

Fields just got a raw deal because Poles had to break this team down and get the salary cap in check. It was the right thing to do.

The Bears are back on track to a decent rebuild. First time in a while.

What's your point?  Maybe Pace feels the same as we do.  Who knows?

I'm all for if they take a different QB. I wouldn't mind even if they kept Fields and sat Williams (or whoever) for a year. I prefer the rookie to sit.

You guys come off as you are totally afraid to fock up the pick.  Yet trust Poles.  Logic doesnt add.  Instead you want Poles to sit with thr guy he didn't draft and just "hold on for dear life" thats not trust in the guy.

(I think I called Poles, Pace too)

Who knows what he wants to do.  But overwhelming signs point to Fields leaving, even if he doesnt have a strong market.

More Bears / Fields talk. Awesome. Has anyone mentioned Rex Grossman yet? I love when that happens.

I think you're trying to make this something it's not.  If Poles thinks that Williams is the QB that will take the Bears to the next level then he should draft him.  I don't think Williams is the answer.  That's all.

Yep. Why don't you bring up Barkley and his great success in NY as a #2 pick in the draft? I think he's on the open market now.

I did. Why don’t you tell us about Kyle Orton too. Wasn’t he on that Bears team as well?

So you DO want to talk about the Bears? Mixed signals here.

Make up your mind.

Yeah thats fine.  With regular Bears posters we are 3 for 3.   Each one has said thr same thing.  Fields is good, its everyone elses fault.  You want Fields.  You queation Caleb and with what youve seen dont care for him.  So I just draw conclusions of where the fanbase generally stands.  Behind Fields, ironically.

Mock on the Athletic had them going with Rome Odunze with the 2nd pick.  Him and Moore would make for a really scary combo.

I never said that. I said he got a raw deal. I didn't boast Fields. I thought he had a shot for sure. He still might.

I don't have a schtick.  If you want to talk football, that's great.  You seem to get emotional and defensive about it though.  We're just fans with opinions, relax.

No. It's the football version of liberal TDS. It's always about the Bears.

I join in plenty of other team discussions without being obsessed with trying to put them down.

I know you said dream would be trade down some. But lets say QBs go 1 2 3.  And you guys stay at 6.  What kind of player are you hoping for?  What direction do the Giants go in?  BPA?

Seriously, there's no need to be so defensive.  I gave my opinions on what I think the Bears should do.  What more did you want, an argument?

WR. But it doesn’t matter. They are a mess. Anything but another tackle and I’ll be ok with it. I’d rather wait until next year to go after the QB, and not necessarily in the draft, but that’s ok too.

Nope. He said you are fragile. So I guess you are fragile. :dunno:

And he called me upset. So...it MUST be true.

He's great to talk football with.

Packers needs:  safety (multiple), CB depth, a LBer since Campbell has hit a wall and may be gone, backup RB, OL depth.

Hard to really say since changing DCs with a new scheme.  Not sure exactly what sorts of players Hafley wants.  But hes mentioned tackling and they will play much more single high over 2 deep.   They will need a deep safety.   I am expecting a FA pickup at S since the FA class is so good.

Id rather not go OL early.  I see guys selectiing a Tackle and saying they need one.  Perhaps they didn't watch any games this year.  OL early is still a possibility, but I myself am fine with the starting 5 we would put on the field.  Rasheed Walker was great last year at LT and still raw.

Id love Cooper Dejean.  For the deep saftey Nubin from Minny is really good.  Very smart, athletic enough, great production.

Packers can go several different directions early. But secondary will havd to be addressed.

I want nothing.  You are being dramatic.  If you don't want to spitball about football thats fine.
