Predict the Bears record for 2024

Right around .500 with 8-9 wins. They’re definitely more talented than last year but it’s hard to pick double digit wins with a rookie QB. The kind of turnaround Houston had with Stroud is almost unprecedented. I think Chicago starts slow and close the year stronger than they started.

Consistent with what? Bears have many good options. I don't need to be stuck in one. Plus, every time they make a move, that changes things. You don't know football so you wouldn't know this.

I will. I don't know their QB yet. But, I'll say at this point, 10-7. I'm really curious about the #9 pick.

Depends on how the rookie plays.  Fields played like a rookie and they won 7.  If Williams has one of those good rookie season I can see more than 7 wins.  

It will matter much more what they do philosophically and how thr QB reacts early.  

People think shiny toys mean more wins.  They don't.   If Keenan Allen gets hurt mid week last year playing for thr Chargers....the point spread hardly moves.  People put waaaaay too much stock in individual players.  Not many non QBs even move the spread.

I understand why Bears fans had Fields back so bad.  And are happy their GM played nice with him.  Hes like the best QB in their history.  All the thank yous to him is like some 15 year HOF left.

Why would he get injured?   Seems much more helathy than Swift.  

Its a 1 year deal.  The rest can be voided.  

Jones missed a bunch of games last season.  Packers were fine.

Have his back? He's a good guy that  sucked at QB. He holds the ball too long, fails constantly in the 4th quarter, has thrown only 40 TDs to 30 INTs, can't read defenses, never could throw a guy open except for long balls, he only sees one target per play, he makes bad RPO decisions on a constant basis. It's not all his fault. He was on a team that was gutted for a rebuild. 

I hope Pitt turns him around. He's a good guy and I wish him success.

assuming Caleb Williams and knowing he is surrounded by Keenan Allen, DJ Moore, Cole Kmet, Gerald Everett etc is a hell of a start.   it's the Bears though, so much like my Jets, something bad is bound to happen.  Plus that defense still needs work. 30 team sacks was pretty low and they gave up a fairly high amount of passing tds....  The o-ine could be better if healthy. 

8-9 wins sounds possible, maybe probable although in that division, they are no better than 3rd and potentially still 4th depending on what Minny does at QB. If Minny trades up for a QB, that rookie will have better weapons at his disposal.

Chicago won 7 games last year so I’m assuming that’s their floor. If everything breaks right I could see 10-7. So I’ll split the difference and say 8/9. I’m assuming duh Bears are much more talented on O but it takes some time for rookie QBs to acclimate.

I think their ability to ascend quickly will be hampered by their strong division. Remember, Houston was in the AFC South with Indy and Tennessee. They got 3 wins right there and split with the slightly underperforming Jags.  They also benefitted from a very easy schedule, especially after their bye.  

not to take anything away from CJ Stroud but looking back on it their most impressive win by far was over the Bengals when Burrow was still playing in week 10... or maybe that 2 game stretch in general beating Tampa and cincy

I'm ok with that. Unless something catastrophic happens, I don't see them overtaking the Lions or Packers for that division. I'm thinking 8 wins. And that would be great with the rookie.
