We have both  a red & a gray today although my wife prefers a smoked shoulder like she had growing up. . I grew up with gray , moved onto red but recently found I prefer the gray. I’m not a Colcannon guy but there will be some along with the traditional sides , boiled potatoes, turnip, carrots and homemade soda bread

friend of mine lives above an irish bar. they do a big tent in the parking lot with live music, beer and food trucks. I guess because they are inconveniencing tenants (all of this is set up on their parking spaces, noise etc) they give them all badges for unlimited free drinks and food. whatever they want. so he invited a few of us and we had a full day of free Guinness, blue moon, burgers, corned beef and crispy chicken sammiches     was better last year on a Friday but we still managed to overdo it
