I don't think he is, even though lots of places seem to be high on him. Not quite sure who I would have picked if Bryson was gone. Clark should have the game for the PGA. He just bit me last week, has had a few down events and has yet to play well in a PGA. Should be lifting the Trophy Sunday.

Homa probably should have been my round 2 pick

I picked Fitz in round 3 because I suspected you wouldnt take BOTH Zal and Hideki. I was hoping you would take Hideki. I love him but his back concerns me way more. He had to pull out of the pro am at the API... though he played well. Hasn't played since the Masters and his w/d last week was absolute last minute.  Zalatoris really just withdrew from the Byron Nelson ahead of time and claimed it was for back maintenance. I think he just wanted the week off with a signature event and major coming up.

I was hoping that one of those last three picks would drop to me to pair with Clark.  The fact that none did caused my "coffee" delay (along with taking a dump).

I'm banking on Hideki backing (pardon the pun) out of Wells Fargo as mostly precaution.  It's an injury  he's been playing with for some time, and playing well when he plays, so I'm hoping he'll just work through it like he has been.  Zal has pedigree but in addition to the possible injury, his recent performance hasn't been good, and he isn't a long hitter.  Which probably means championship :first:

i dont even really like him but had to look this up because I always thought he was a long hitter.  He was 13th in driving distance for the 21/22 season.  Looks like this year he is down to 105 (Hideki is right around there for comparison). Must be dialing it down to protect the back. But he's 28th in total driving so i'll take it.

Zalatoris now has a driver that is 3 inches shorter than he used in 21/22. His control is much better, but he lost some distance.

now that you mention it, I do remember hearing that. So I would consider him to be a pretty long hitter. Just doing what he needs to do to make sure he has a longer career

Also, Zal as 70th in SG Off The Tee.  Hideki is 40th, and Burns (who I took instead of Zal) is 28th.  Zal's overall SG summaries are not good this year, which in the end was probably the biggest factor in me passing on him.

So again, congrats on the :first:

Weather advantage leans slightly toward early/late half of the draw. Although friday could be rough all day and throw that advantage away.

Meh. I would have picked hideki if you took Zal. I was just surprised when you said he wasn’t a long hitter so I had to investigate. It’s painful enough taking Zal based on his putting alone. If he wasn’t sick a good iron player, I can’t imagine how many three jacks he’d have.

this is what happens when we finish early and have time to talk 😂

Bogey, quad-bogey on his first two holes.

We won't have to deal with him this year.

I didn't mind him like the other guys, but he did say some pretty cringeworthy things last year. I probably would have too in that position, so not going to poop on him.

I was thinking the same thing. His form suggests he puts in zero hours of practice time.
