What did Trump mean when he told Christians: "In four years, you won’t have to vote again"?

So you don’t think giving illegals all the money and services we do is a good idea? Economically?

We don’t give them that much money. They pay in far more than we give them (Social Security being one of the best examples.)

I believe in giving undocumented immigrants basic access to healthcare in order to avoid public health issues like tuberculosis. I believe in giving all children access to public education if only to have them occupied during the day and not running around causing mischief and worse. And I believe in a basic safety net of food and shelter for anyone in this society who can’t afford it. You may regard these as “liberal” positions but that would say more about you than me.

So these schools, who pays for all the extra burden? And will it cause any issues for the citizen children? Will resources be redirected?

Duh, they'll have all that extra money from when they defunded the police.  🙄

1. The taxpayer.
2. Yes. Unless resources are redirected, it will be a strain on the schools that have to deal with this particularly in border states.
3. They should be. That’s why we need to overhaul the entire system. As I wrote these people pay in far more than they take out. But it’s not evenly distributed which creates problem and strain.

You need to accept three facts about this:

1. Undocumented immigrants aren’t going anywhere. They’re not going to be deported. They’re not going to leave voluntarily. They’re here to stay.

2. More are coming. Many many more. No wall or added security will stop them. You can slow it down but not stop it.

3. Economically they are a net benefit to our society, even if it’s not evenly distributed.

If you accept the above 3 facts, then we can have a reasonable discussion about what to do next. If you refuse to accept them we can’t. It’s that simple.

You can’t apply all of your factors that are based on migration numbers at much lower levels. It’s hard to believe you can’t grasp that aspect of the current situation.

They will be if Trump is elected, even if he has to use The National Guard or US Troops (remember SCOTUS has said that any acts of POTUS are legal and can't be prosecuted). It will be a show of force that his base will love (of course it will probably wreck the economy since there will be no one to do the menial jobs most are employed at).

No. Trump will try (and the attempt will be catastrophic) but he won’t succeed. They’re not going anywhere.

The increased numbers make a comprehensive solution much more urgent but they don’t change the fundamentals of the issue.

Ingraham asks Trump about his comments telling Christian backers they won't have to vote again in 4 years. Trump responds by saying Jews should have their heads examined if they vote for Dems. Ingraham presses him & Trump doesn't exactly quell concerns he wants to end elections.

Clearly he will eliminate elections and put in a monarchy for his family to rule the country for generations to come.  Thankfully, we have no checks and balances to stop that, so we will all benefit from the Trump dynasty for the next 100 years.

So you believe the bolded, and also believe that deportation would be "catastrophic"?

Honest question:  why do you want to destroy America?  I'm hoping it's just naivete.

Probably best that you ignore me; the data I provide causes you too much pain.

In fact, I don't think you are cut out for this place.  A little too combative.  You need a Leftie echo chamber.  Maybe Tumblr?

I don’t. I don’t think an unlimited stream of immigrants and refugees destroys America. I do think it challenges us and will force us to rethink many things.
But there’s plenty of room for them. Our resources are, because of capitalism, ultimately unlimited. We need to solve climate change. We need to put as many resources as necessary into the development of nuclear fusion. We need to increase trade without tariffs and spread prosperity throughout the globe.

Every problem, no matter how great, brings enormous opportunity. We need to move forward not backward. That’s a big part of the reason I believe Kamala will win: because her overall message is so much more powerful than Trump’s.

Not me. I'm one of God's warriors and will be left behind to fight the antichrist on a low-tier fantasy football message board and maybe twitter.

I feel like we have plenty of room for immigrants if they want to go live in Nebraska or Wyoming, but they all want to live in California and New York.  I welcome them as well, but they need to come here and establish roots in West Virginia. (by the way why do we need 2 Virginia's and 2 Dakotas?)

Not sure about the Dakotas, but we have a West Virginia because the folks there refused to secede from the Union.

Fun Fact:

Republicans are responsible for the two Dakotas. It was just one state but they wanted an additional two Senate seats.

The problem, which we've discussed countless times, is that you equate the success of our past immigration system with our current situation.  In most of our history, immigration was restricted to certain cultures, and immigrants had no safety nets to save them.  I've seen estimates of 30%+ of immigrants went back home because they couldn't hack it.  Those that made it assimilated or stayed contained in their cultural pockets within the city.

Which brings us to your studies which show that immigration improves the economy.  What you miss, or choose to ignore, is that it does NOT do so for first-generation, which consistently costs money.  Second generations are a slight net positive but not enough to outweigh the initial costs, and it's not until 3rd that the overall "investment" is considered a positive.  And again, this was in the past, highly controlled system.

As I type this it occurs to me:  there is little incentive for the feds to stem immigration.  The burden of that first-generation cost falls primarily on local and state governments.  The feds just sit back and wait to collect taxes in the future.  It makes me think that maybe we should stop shipping them to random cities and start dropping them all off at the Capitol.

What Trump meant was that this is the last time you will be voting for him. Seems pretty clear and straightforward to me.

Illegal immigration cost $150.7 billion in 2023, with the average U.S. taxpayer paying $1,156 each.

He suspends the elections (for whatever reason) and SCOTUS backs him up because they gave POTUS unlimited power and immunity from any acts while President (similar to Nixon's famous quote saying "If the President does it, then it's legal).
