Garret Wilson Rankings

Recommended Posts

So despite QB liability last year he had 95 catches,1000 yds but only three tds. His adp has been a consistent pick ten to twelve in the mocks I’ve done.

Rodgers, although coming out an injury that typically takes two years to fully recover, has helped elevate expectations.

You taking the risk he’ll be a top 5/7 wr and drafting him round one?

I have him rated as a back end round 1 talent, but I probably won’t be taking him. Well actually I have an auction so I won’t be spending super top dollar on him but if he was going low for whatever reason, yeah I’d jump in.

Mmm I like G Wilson more than I like his situation, if Rodgers does return and can stay healthy, and is motivated to win, than I can see a late rd 1 wr.  But right now I have I’m thefirst pick rd 2.

I'd probably avoid him but wouldn't be upset if I had to take him. Hopefully that makes sense.

He's put up WR1 numbers with some of the crappiest QBs of all time. He could be in for huge numbers if Rogers stays healthy.

Happily take him late 1st.  I'm still soul searching, but currently like Wilson more than Jefferson and AJ Brown.  Logic being I feel he's safer than Jefferson (hammy issue and unknown Qb play), and has more potential for a top 3 finish than Brown.

I'm a little nervous about Rogers injury - less so than others, but willing to take the risk for the incredible upside.

Yeah I’m thinking the same

As much as I can’t stand AAron because he’s a me-me-me cry baby, he does lock in on his top target when he has one that’s talented.  So if cry baby can stay healthy, and not lose the locker room with his b!tc#ing and moaning because they’ll be really bad as a team yet again, I could see him making Wilson top 3, if not the WR 1 this year for fantasy.

Jets defense was stout last year. With improved offense, they might be a playoff contender.  :dunno:

With an improved offense, I think the Jets can win their division.

honestly, when you consider that the offense couldnt stay on the field, and couldnt sustain drives, this D has been borderline heroic.    if the offense with Rodgers can sustain a drive even half the time this D is likely top 3.  and this D will rack up the turnovers when protecting a lead late in games.   best part is... for fantasy you dont need to draft them early

Risk/reward.  Assuming health, I believe Wilson is in a situation where he has a legit shot to be the WR1 at season's end.  Last year, CeeDee Lamb as WR1 with 403 (ppr), points coming off a 135 catch 1750 yard, 12 TD season.  I don't think that will be the standard for this season (400+ points), I believe 350 to 380 will be the range where WR1 falls.  Wilson could have a chance to post a 120/1500/15 season, which equates to 360 points and falls in the range noted.  Now, will others fall in that range?  Oh, I'm sure that could happen... but that makes all of them having a legit shot at being the WR1 at seasons end.  How many?  :dunno:  But that's enough to justify a first round pick.

The question everyone needs to ask themselves is, how confident are they in the situation.  Will Rodgers be close to 100% at the start of the season?  Will he stay healthy?  Will the two click on day 1?  If a person likes the answers to those questions, then yes, he's worthy of a first round pick.

Personally, I think falls in between those numbers and last years.  I'd put him at 90, 1200, and 8.  Based on last years numbers, that puts him at WR13.  I'd be happier with him as a WR2 or my WR1 if I had 2 good RB's... or McCaffrey.

Someone's opinion

Fun stats... thirty-five Wrs had 100+ targets last year. Among them catchable passes / targets:

Highest... 1) Rice 85.3%, 2) Thielen 80.3%, 3) Lamb 79.0%  ... notable Rice and Thielen had extremely low Air yard/Rec ratios.

Lowest... 35) Hollywood 54.5%, 34) Hopkins 58.4%, 33) Wilson 61.3%  ... that's some crappy Qb play.

Average among the 35 Wrs was 69.7%.

In 2022, 80.6% of Rodgers passes were charted as on target, ranking 2nd in the league.

That's the key to Wilson.  Is Rodgers healthy enough to keep that track record going.  If he does, Wilson could be elite this year.

I think the only way hes not a WR1 is if Rodgers gets hurt again.   look who was his QB the last 2 years when he put up 1000 yards in his rookie year and 1100 last year.

I think with a legit QB this guy could be a stud.   I'm treating him as if hes a low end WR1 right now with upside

I meant the overall #1 WR in fantasy, not on the Jets.  Sorry for any confusion.  I think there is a shot that could happen.  If someone wants to draft him as a high-end WR1, mid or low, I think they're all legitimate outcomes.  Me?  It's the Jets.  LOL  Something's going to go wrong.  🤣

I think how you're looking at him is reasonable.

Agreed, I have him low wr1, first pick in the 2nd rd.   But with Nacua injury , we might see Wilson’s ADP go up.

he does have that kind of upside.   but due to rodgers age/health I'm still treating as a low end WR1.    but the upside on that pick is considerable.   it looks like his ADP is shortening up so people are catching on that this is a good pick at his ADP.

If Discount Double Douche looks healthy in the preseason,  Wilson’s ADP will go up.

I don't really think there is much to question here, unless you are projecting another Rodgers injury or that he will completely fall off a cliff. He doesn't even need to be 2022 Rodgers for Wilson to be a monster.  Jets were a 7 win team last year and Wilson put up respectable numbers with the worst QB play in the NFL. If Rodgers is league average, the Jets win 3 more games and Wilson likely has 95-1200-7 minimum. If Rodgers is good and locks onto him,  he's going to rank right behind Lamb, Hill, Chase and St. Brown, possibly above a few of them.

Should be, but isn’t at this time based on ADP.

Thanks
