I guess it's the Carson Steele era in KC.

Why is Steele so highly thought of?  His yoc is putrid.  Undrafted rookie.  Doesnt catch the ball.  Has limited ability.  I dont get it.

I guess he can punch some TDs in.  Hes basically Zeke with less catches.  Maybe zero catching.

Not saying Perine is the guy.  (I grabbed him in one league just to see).  CEH comes back or they go pick up a RB in all likelihood.  But Steele has so little upside.

I don't think that high of him, but he'll definitely get the goal line work, and they seem to like these physical guys.

no not a ball catcher.  but he runs with a lot of power, seems to be good at following his blocks, and has a straight arm that reminds me of Henry's straight arm.

that said, hes slower than Henry and doesnt catch balls.

if the line opens up a hole that he gets through he will hit it.

what I predict is that Steele gets the early down work and goal line work, Perine will be the third down back (unless it is short yardage).

The  KC line is decent.   I predict 60-75 yards on the ground with 1 TD.   not fantastic,  but good enough to keep you afloat if the rest of your fantasy team is playing ok

To me he is TD dependent.   They become a lot easier to defend when hes in.

Even if he does get work early I see games like 14 carries for 45 yds.  If he pops in a td ok.  If not useless.

Then in a couple weeks they will just go to CEH or Hunt.

And so is Hunt with his 3 ypc last year. Sounds like he'll be on the practice squad for a couple weeks so feels like Perine time.

I'm hoping for a 2nd half of 2022 McKinnon out of Perine but we'll see. Picked him up for nothing and more to block the Pacheco owner.

I ended up not getting him and I’m kind of OK with that. Just so much uncertainty, but Steele is probably the guy for a while.

I just didn’t want to deal with hunt looming no idea what’s going on with CEH. No idea about Perine.

Oh it could be a mess all around.  But at least Hunt can catch the football.  Perhaps he is shot.

Everyone running to use FAB on Steele or a nice priority spot on him...I see them dropping him in 2 weeks.  Maybe they really need that upside of a 10 pt game for this coming week.  KC at the 1.  Steele owners wait in anticipation.  Its a shovel pass to Kelce!  TD!

they do.   but the WR are scary enough that nobody is gonna stack the box against him.

sounds like CEH is dealing with some mental health stuff.  Some PTSD associated with an attempted robbery some time ago.  I dont know that he is the guy.  I figure its this guy or Hunt.  but hunt just got signed so he gets at audition of at least a game or two to show he can get it done.   It wont take Hunt that long to get up to speed.  hes played in an Andy Reid offense in the past but it will take at least a game or two.

It's a clusterf*** no matter how you slice it.  Should mean more passing attempts/more looks on earlier downs for Kelce.

I picked up Steele because I have Pacheco and I cant wait 2 weeks to see if Hunt is the guy.  it takes time to learn the playbook so I figured Steele gets 1 start at minimum.   likely 2.  after that it depends on how he plays.  if he plays well, he will continue to relegate Hunt to the practice squad or a backup role.

When steele comes in it dumbs down the call if they arent going to throw him the ball.  I get it doesnt shoot the play up, maybe hes a good blocker.  But its definitely easier to defend a team thay has a power grinding non catch RB in there.  It shows thr hand to some degree.

Im not saying Perine can be a guy.  But last several years hes averaged like mid 4s per carry and is a big boy himself.  Plus he catches it.

I dont see KCs offense going to a power lacking skillset RB 15 times a game all season.  And that's what he would need to be relevant it seems.  Its literally Zeke without catching and hes probably not as trusted as a 3rd down blocker as Zeke.

Hey deep leagues deep bench I get it.  But I myself cant expect much from this guy.  An undrafted rookie grinder with limited skillset isnt what KC will settle for.

I could be wrong.   Just how I see it.

CEH, isn’t picked up in my ppr, I’m going to wait and see if his head is back on, and I might make an offer for him.

Probably the wise choice would be to avoid.

RB for the best team in the league?

It’s worth taking a shot on somebody. Now who is a different question

that's the thing.

Late in the game with KC up 2 TD, I could see them feeding Steele a lot, and he will just wear down that defense.

hes useless if Kc goes down by 2 TD, but how often does that ACTUALLY happen?    not that often.

I guess I'll throw my hat in the prediction ring

Steele due to between the tackles and goaline work

Then perine due to passing game upside

Then hunt just in case he's not washed and can come in and be a 3 down back

Hunt ran injured is why he only averaged 3 ypc.

In the offseason RB Kareem Hunt underwent sports hernia surgery to repair a ruptured adductor.

thats a terrible injury for a RB.   they shouldnt have even had him out there.   Yech!

either way, the more important thing is that he was productive when he last played for Reid.   I acknowledge he may not be the same player.   but Reid has a way of getting the best out of his guys.    I picked up Steele but if he looks terrible I may just dump him and pick up Hunt and hope for the best.

I am cautiously optomistic.  I actually liked some of the tape I saw on this kid.

Only 3.8 in 2022.

I think it’s best to pursue someone like B Allen of the Jets, but I also said , I’m going to wait until after this weekend to see if CEH is going to return, if he does, I might make a move to pick him up, I think if he does return, he’s the one I would go after.

Hunt/Steele/CEH, For about 6 weeks meh.

For the people talking about CEH - does anyone remember that he is terrible at the game of football?

He’s awful.
