Engorgeous George 2,151 Posted February 2 10 minutes ago, Strike said: The Texas National Guard has been granted authority to make Immigration arrests within Texas. Woo Hoo!!!!! I believe the next Taylor Sheridan project will be a reality based T.V. show where Texas cowboys will rope, wrangle, brand and then drive immigrants back across the border. The cowboys will go into communities and chase down the immigrants. The show will have an element of The Running Man to it in that we will be able to bet on our favorite cobowys as to the numbers they will generate and the time it takesthem to get anyn one illegal roped, tied, and branded. There will, naturally, have to be deductions for any legals inadvertently roped and tied, and if they actually go so far as to brand a legal they will be relegated to working birthday party pony rides and the maimed legal will be compensated.. No doubt the protestors are comprised not only of undocumented immigrants but friends, family, and sympathizers. You’re right they shouldn’t be shutting down any freeways. But their cause is a just one.
The Real timschochet 6,446 Posted February 3 And the reasons these protestors wave Mexican flags is because California used to be part of Mexico until it was seized by the USA in a war they believe to have been unlawful. Therefore their argument is, even though they are not asking for California back, they have the right to be here and to pass back and forth between the two countries. I think they have a legitimate argument.

KSB2424 3,148 Posted February 3 Technically they broke the law sneaking in. However I have a heart and believe deportations should be triaged. If you are here illegally and then commit another crime, any other crime? Bye Felicia. I would expect the same thing if I, KSB, snuck into France, Germany, Brazil, North Korea any other country in the world.

My point is that they shouldn’t be called illegal people, because it is dehumanizing. All they did, most of them, was break the law coming here. Thats bad but in the scheme of things it’s not such a big deal. I don’t seek to vanquish you. I just disagree with you on this issue and a few others. I probably agree with you on just as many. Mark Davis 339 Posted February 3 1 minute ago, The Real timschochet said: And I’ll call them undocumented people, most of whom (though not all) having committed an illegal act, not an especially serious one. This unwillingness to call people what they are is a good reason why the Dems lost to Donald Trump. You can look at it through the lens of illegal immigrants, the whole trans thing, the hyphenation of every subset of American group. I know you'll disagree with me, but the people I know whose vote moved from Biden in '20 to Trump in '24 these type things along with the border were the main reasons. That thought may work in California, but if you want to win anywhere but the coasts, it won't. There's a reason those upper midwest states are trending more red toward purple where as they used to not be competitive. When the left insists on these issues, Donald Trump wins.
