A lot of these folks, and Latin Americans in general, voted blue over the years not because of any handouts but because they correctly perceived the growing anti-undocumented immigrant stance of Republicans as rooted in anti-Latino bigotry. Thats changed however. Many Latinos voted for Trump this time around because they were more concerned about inflation than they were about his racism, and they wrongly believed he could fix inflation.
