I feel like Trevor Lawrence is getting too much of a pass

First things first. Get yourself a haircut for crisakes.

I agree.  It would be different if the hair was working for him.  Obviously it's not.  He should show up next Sunday with a Johnny U cut.

The funny thing is he's got pretty decent legs.  He's basically Daniel Jones.  They should run him a little more.

Always nice when they catch up.

Lawrence is still only 25 years old and has had a carousel of terrible coaches

I'm giving him more time before I declare him a bust

Im surprised he hasnt been totally ruined.   Mediocre WR's and bad coaching...... but he's resilient at least.  and now he has a big money contract the team cant likely get out of, so hes locked in for a while.   hopefully he figures things out at some point here.   I'll say one thing.... the Organization hasnt done much to help him so far.....

Oh, he's going to get it, lol... they gave him a new deal.  Every game I've watched, that Lawrence played... admittedly, only about 8 to 10, he looked below average even when there were games against below average teams.  Last year, I caught 2 games (the first two)... vs Miami and Cleveland.  Did you see those crappy performances?  Actually, I'm wrong.  I did see him play great against Green Bay last year.  Prior to last year, I'm not kidding, a high school kid could have done better than him against Tampa towards the end of the year.  He has talent, I just don't know if he has the "IT" factor.  I don't know if he even cares... which I think is worse.

Yup, he's been very disappointing,  especially for us Dynasty players. If he can't put up respectable numbers in this pass happy offense then I'm out officially.

I still can't believe he's the same age as Bo Nix. It feels like Lawrence is 30 already

didnt he enter the draft early?   that would explain a lot.  and also explains why its likely wise for his team not to give up on him yet.    hes young enough that there is still very significant upside for him.

Meh, he played 3 years in college.  A lot of guys do that.  He had 40 starts, so it's not like he was a 1 or 2 year starter with only 12 to 25 starts.

you are right.  but whether a person plays, 2, 3, or 4 years of college, if they are mismanaged you can ruin them all the same.

I think younger players are more likely to have their development stunted if you dont handle them correctly.    I do feel Jaxonville has not often put him into a position to be successful.    and they certainly did not do a great job of surrounding him with good talent.

they blew an incredible amount of money on Kirk as a WR but he was never more than mediocre before and after the signing.   I think he may have had one 1000 yard season.   certainly he did nothing to justify the stupid amount of cash they threw at him.

they also blew a few draft picks which doesnt help.  but the biggest blunder was the Urban Meyer Hiring.   Im honestly surprised Lawrence is still a starter given the gong show that franchise was in his rookie year.   Lots of prospects would have crashed and burned there.

Jags were 4-13 last year, but 9 of those loses were by 5 or less points and that was with Lawrence missing half the season. Way more competitive than you'd think. Shouldn't take too much to turn that ship around.  Jags signed a big time o-lineman to a monster contract and drafted one in the 3rd - so line should improve. Lawrence is entering his 5th year and has a bonafide superstar in Thomas Jr. now paired with their new Heisman trophy Wr.  They have a new coach in the locker-room (fresh voice often helps) - former Bucs coordinator who had the 4th highest scoring offense last year.  Finally, they play in the weakest division in the NFL.

Jags over/under is 7.5 wins. I'd take the over. Fantasy wise, not sure Lawrence has a top 10 finish in him quite yet, but should easily outperform the lowly adp of Qb 20.

I despise the Jags and enjoyed watching them suck last year (it's a Dolphin thing). Hope they stink again, but my unbiased opinion is they're gonna do a lot better than people expect.

One of the many problems with Lawrence is he wants to be great but doesn't understand what that means.

I used to see it all the time when I played basketball.  There's a certain type of player that just can't make an easy play.  They are so desperate to be great, they try to force some awesome play.  Think Jason Williams (white chocolate not the duke guy or the power forward).  These are the types that see a player cutting through the lane for a wide open elbow jumper but don't throw the pass because they want to try and break down the defender off the dribble and thread the needle for some dude cutting to the basket resulting in a turnover 85% of the time but the same two points they would've gotten on the jumper on some awesome pass 15% of the time.

What these guys don't realize is that greatness is just consistently making the easy play 95% of the time and having the ability to make the great play when it's necessary to do so.  Think Tom Brady.

Lawrence doesn't consistently make the easy play and it kills them.

He also holds the ball way too long.
