nobody 2,568 Posted October 5, 2024 I think he's back week 8. I'm not sure why the media keeps thinking the Dolphins or the NFL are going to forbid him from playing or something.
weepaws 3,157 Posted October 5, 2024 For his safety.
nobody 2,568 Posted October 5, 2024 If he's cleared to play by doctors, what standing does anyone else have to keep him out? None. All praise to Allah in every situation.

Concussion symptoms, and the damage to the brain gets worse with each new concussion. Tua is getting dangerously close to a horrible outcome. If you look at this last concussion, the impact didn’t even look that violent…there is already a lot of damage done. The Dolphins could choose not to play him for his own safety. Time will tell. Here’s hoping for the best for the guy.

I admit this was complicated a bit by the fact the guys neck was in a funny position when he was hit. that makes it harder for the muscles to stabilize the head when the hit comes. but the bottom line is yes.... it is easier to get a concussion if you have already had one or two of them. that is what makes this so dangerous for him. It sounds like hes returning if he gets cleared. I honestly hope he at least waits out the year before returning but it is not my call to make.
nobody 2,568 Posted October 6, 2024 Doctors say he's good. But weepaws wants Mike McDaniel to decide when he's healthy.

I want him to retire because I dont wanna see the guys career end in a terrible incident I wont be able to unsee on live TV. in the end, its up to Tua and the doctors I suspect. I dont know that anyone else has much input into this.
kilroy69 1,216 Posted October 6, 2024 Tua is going to be a vegetable by the time he is 30. He is going to be like Muhamad Ali and people are going to be like "wow. I can't believe he is that bad so young" He is giving up his lifespan in order to make sure his family is provided for in the years to come when he is not going to be able to help them physically. I have seen a lot of concussions in my life as a football fan. I had never seen fencing till Tua and now I have seen it twice. As a selfish Tua owner I want him to come back. He could help me win my 3qb league. As a human I would like him to never return to the football field and enjoy the time he has with his kids. Give back to the community before the cte takes over. nobody 2,568 Posted October 7, 2024 I'd play if I was Tua. It wouldn't even be a question. As I get older, I started to really understand that phrase "Live fast. Die young." I never did before. Probably because I thought I was invincible, but month after month, year after year all I see in myself is decline. I fell off a cliff physically. I'm losing my fastball mentally, and I'll probably erode for another 30 years, but that's not living. That's waiting to die. I'd give up a lot to be able to fight and die in the arena instead of eroding away like I am now. That's what living is. "Saving" his health for later is just like not being healthy now. No one should discourage this man from living his fullest life if that's how he chooses to live it.
