I am actually surprised as well. I have never read the Bible, but I have heard it refers to the earth as flat and round. Idk which is true in the Bible.

Yes, flat earthers are more likely to be conservative. I am not a conservative myself, but I can appreciate their general distrust for anything that comes from official sources.

It's been in the works for a long time.  Man made rain make sense to me but the idea that the government is creating hurricanes and controlling where they go is absolutely moronic.  The believers were going off about it with the last two hurricanes.  Just as bad as the climate change people.

Climate change is happening, but the why is the big deal. Also, you can see that the sea level has not risen despite people worrying about it for decades.

Greg Braden is a geologist I like to follow. He attributes it to the natural change of the earth. When I look at what authority is the loudest about it and what they propose be done about it, I can't take them seriously. These are the same people who fly around in jets and take motorcades to climate events

The theory for the damage in NC was that it was created to clear out that area so the government could take over the land.  They could then mine the lithium there.  They think it's part of the push for more EVs.

Yeah. I only see EVs as being good for local use. I like to travel by auto. Always loved road trips and still do. No chance I ever do that in an EV.

My dad has driven his EV from Iowa to South Padre twice already.  It can be done easy enough as long as you're willing to make more stops.

We’ve got a ways to go before that will be possible. I’ve had one for a little over a year now, and while I still love it, I would hesitate to recommend it to everyone. It definitely takes a lot more planning, and it’s probably a hard no if you plan on it being your only car.

Right. And the charging stations are not all equal. I have been at places (hotels) where they have charging units and people literally sitting out by their cars charging for over an hour. This country is no where remotely close to making EVs a reality. And that's just the charging aspect. Not maintenance, not battery disposals, not winter travel, etc.If even just half of this country depended upon electric vehicles (included inner city dwellers like NYC and Chicago and LA) what would that look like?

Yes, the infrastructure is a focking mess. And if you do want to roadtrip, fast charging is a must- and it’s the wild, wild, west in terms of what you will have to pay for it. Most of the time it ends up being more expensive than gas. And don’t get me started on the ass raping you will pay for insurance.

Overall, if I had to do it again, I probably would, but it has definitely been an adjustment.

 The reason insurance companies do this  is they have a golden egg with idiots that buy electric cars which have money to pay for it. It’s only going to get worse. The batteries alone cost ten grand plus. Get into a front end accident, it may take weeks to months for it to be repaired. Go online and try and find a battery and a qualified mechanic to replace it. Hybrid is the way to go. I had a Lexus that I really loved. My lady’s idiotic son wrecked into a telephone pole and ended up submerged in Bayou St. John. The only good thing that came out of it, the rental company gave us a Dodge Charger. Orange four door brand new one completely loaded. One of the funnest cars I have ever driven.

Yeah, I get that the batteries are hella expensive, but I don’t understand your point about a front end accident. The batteries are under the floorboards, not in the front.   

Also, I live in LA. We’re not quite there yet but there’s a sh!t ton of EV’s on the road here. Finding a mechanic who can work on them is not a big deal.
