I think this is a sensible move, but when that group is repopulated it needs to comprise a range of viewpoints.

The problem with this will be the absolute intolerance of liberals, and likely their refusal to share the same space at all with those who have opposing viewpoints.

I think there will be some liberal outlets that take this approach.  They know that they screwed the pooch this election and want to come across as more neutral to the independent voter that they turned away.  I'd expect this move to last 4 years.
