I hated the signing when it happened as I equated it to Jeff Blauser’s career…

Guess we know why he had a career year last year…

Two 7-0 teams in the NL west. Pretty wild

the padres have a 36/11 run differential after played two playoff teams.  Pretty good start for my boys

Yep, you won pitching and I won hitting. 👌

That kid look like he gone be malney. 🤤

Maybe next time we play, you'll have Jac and I'll have Basallo.

He goes both ways too, which i like.

Fans want him to get to the bigs fast as we have three guys in the outfield who hit below the mendoza line. Somehow we made the playoffs last year with it but I don't think the odds are in your favor, even with production coming from everywhere else.

So the question is do you let cags take his time in the minors to work on both hitting AND pitching, or do you rush him to bring more pop to your lineup a little quicker.   You still end up playing him out of position with 1B and DH already a bit settled with pasquantino and necessary days off at catcher for salvy to try and get him through a full season healthy.

In a year or two with bwj, cags and pasquantino this lineup should be dangerous.

If Torkelson for the Tigers keeps hitting, this will really help the Tigers(duh).  But it was nice to see him come through in the 9th Sunday.   And Baez had 3 hits and an awesome tag on a steal of second.

I feel a little more positive right now about this team.   It's still early and the Yankees are in town so it could get ugly quick.   But at least they are starting on the right foot.

brutal stretch starts today on the road to cleveland, new york and then detroit.  Would be delighted to go .500 during that stretch.

Also Caglianone hit a ball 121 MPH off the bat the other night for a HR :shocking:

T shirt arrived today. Thanks @cmh6476

Tigers v Royals in a four game series next week if you wanna do something with that.  Winner of the series for a t shirt or hat? If 2-2, run differential for a tiebreaker?

let's do this @patweisers44

pfffftttt, the Royals improved in the offseason by adding a true leadoff guy in India which moves some lesser offensive players to the bench

I know it is early, but how is this working out for the Royals?

Rays can be so frustrating. You've got a guy hitting over .400 for an otherwise fairly average offense at best... and he was leading the majors in OPS but lets sit him against an average lefty because analytics. Lets lose the game 1-0.  At some point you have to start your best hitters against all pitchers. Maybe sit a guy against an elite lefty

That's part of what makes it so frustrating. At some point, you need to have your best offensive players in the lineup everyday, aside from an occasional rest day. For Tampa, Yandy Diaz, Junior Caminero, Jonathan Aranda and Josh Lowe (when healthy) should be everyday players... maybe Brandon Lowe as well since he can still usually hit when healthy.  A team that has historically been fine with never getting any offense from catcher, short or center field needs to have all their top hitters in there and stop dicking around.

They have already lost 5  one run games this season.

kind of as expected; pitching has been performing well but you aren't going to win many games when 3/3 outfielders are hitting at or below the mendoza line.  Nice to get out of the Bronx.

How have the Braves been doing?

I look at the lineups they trot out there daily and it amazes me that they are top 10 in runs scored.  Pitching, especially starters have been solid thusfar.

Lets get that sweep!
