The last few times I've shopped for groceries several of the items I've bought have had significant price reductions; were talking a dollar or more on $4 items. Will we get back to the prices before Biden focked everything up? Probably not. But seeing some level of reduction is encouraging. Yes, they definitely are. Putting your anecdotes aside and looking at actual data, grocery prices are up. Some items sure but overall, prices continue to go up as they pretty much always will. Now, after 6 months of Trump this year, the liberals are impatient that he's not fixing things quick enough. This is 80% of what they complain about. This is like how liberals attack ICE agents and when one ICE agent defends himself and fights back, the libs will be ready to pounce and take him to court. The Real timschochet 6,757 Posted July 11 So the deal with the tarrifs remains unchanged: 1. If Trump actually goes through with any of this for any length of time, things are going to be VERY bad. 2. if Trump continues to back down or delay, as Wall Street now believes he will, things won’t be AS bad. But the tarrifs that are already in place will result in higher prices that will hurt American consumers without any positive effect. This pain will start to be noticeable sometime in late summer or early fall, and REALLY be noticeable by Christmas time. 3. If Trump can use his tarrif threats to actually achieve new trade deals that result, long term, in LOWER tarrifs on both sides then this whole thing could ultimately be a positive. Other than Trump completely backing down this seems like the most hopeful outcome but I’m not holding my breath. 4. The main stated goal of the tariffs: to return manufacturing to the USA- is unachievable IMO. This has been my stance, and the stance of most people trying to look at this situation rationally, since January, and it remains unchanged, so you guys can stop with the “what happened to you predicting the economy would crash?” questions. THIS is what I predicted.
MDC 7,406 Posted July 11 Consumer price index shows costs up overall since January 2025. Positive inflation every months since Trump took office. Seems to be the exact opposite of lower costs. I’m sure Day 1 is coming sooner or later.

Oh wait, that was right when Trump finished his first term. And you have a total of zero real life examples of anything your boasting about. Go outside for once. Get some sun and go to the store or fill your gas tank if you own a car. If you've actually done that even once in the past few years, maybe you will learn something useful. For the month, prices rose by 0.1%, below the 0.2% forecast, while annual inflation is now at 2.4%, up from April’s 2.3% rate but below the forecast of 2.5%. So, prices and inflation both up. Now, I am not foolish enough to think politicians actually honor their promises during election time, but dems are allowed to point this out. It's a fair argument. However under Biden inflation went down to under 3%, where it is now. What Trump is doing is actively pursuing inflationary policies with the tariffs. The fed is countering this by keeping rates high.

I haven't thought about selling the stock other than, how to approach it. All of the stock is over a year old since I bought. But thinking about when the time comes. I'm won't be eligible for social security for a few years but also thinking about that and how to approach. I know the old rule is wait as long as possible, but I would hate to see some new wave Hillary Clinton get in the white house and fock that all up. Plus, WTF knows when our time will be up on this earth. I have plenty of time to think about it though. How are you withdrawing from you stock?
