Let's be honest here, you're not trying to help me and I don't need your help.

You have a plan for retirement yet?  In your 50's?

From where I'm sitting, I'd say you need help.

Do I know what age I'm going to retire or where I'm going to live?  No.  Do I have retirement savings? Yes.

I don't need your help.

50s without a target date. That's not good.

Using the 4% rule how far along are you and how much are you banking right now per year?

Samsung to on shore washing machine manufacturing to South Carolina. Must have been that magic wand Obama talked about. Winning.

It is now cheaper for Toyota to build a car in Japan and import to us (15%) than it is for them to build in US with imported parts (25%)

Excellent deal

The Treasury Department recorded $27 billion in customs-duties revenue for June, bringing fiscal year-to-date inflows from levies to $113 billion.  First time ever recording over $100 billion in a single year. And it's only half over.  💪

If a year from now the tariffs are still in place, prices continue stay level or have gotten lower, and the economy continues to do well, I am going to apologize and eat crow to everyone here who has mocked me for my “chicken little” comments. I am going to admit they were right, and I was wrong. I’ll be happy to admit it; when things go well, they go well for me too.

I will also have to reconsider everything I thought I knew about economics.

Treasury took in 27 billion on June. I know you economic geniuses would rather just print it , but this is better.

It would take too long to categorize because Trump keeps slapping them on and off. The impact has been awful and will be worse but consumers aren’t seeing it yet because companies are choosing to swallow the losses rather than pass them on…for now. And idiots like Hardcore look at that and deduce that everything must be going well.

Guy that lives in fantasy land keeps moving the goalposts. You're already wrong that it would take weeks. Months later the S&P is at all time up 9% YTD and you're wrong again.

It will be weeks or even more likely months before we see the effect on the consumer. During that time, expect the Maga fans here and elsewhere saying stuff like “what’s the big deal?” and calling those of us concerned about this “Chicken Little.”

But hey guys years from now I'm going to be right!!!!

Ok great. Where is that money going towards? Seems like they’ve already shutdown all the places that could be used productively.

Um

Think of it this way. It still costs money to run the government, it's just costs 27 billion less now.

The government. Our so called “government “right now is a joke. This administration has dismantled all the good places it could and should then be used towards. As far as I’m concerned the ones at the top will just be lining their pockets again

U know I’m right. That’s why your response was half ass at best. If there is any sort of justice anymore, which that’s in question also. Hopefully this will be less than the 4 years somehow

I know, I could tell by your simpleton question. I'm OK using it to offset the costs for the tax breaks for the rich if you want to think of it that way.

But really it's just one big balance sheet. Whatever they're doing it costs 27 billion less because of June.

Ok that’s crap also. And you call my question a simpleton question. Another trump move to try to call out a question or even the person who asks it as a simpleton. But you’re cool with it to offset tax breaks on the rich. How about instead of tax breaks on the rich we use it towards things that could help out the non-rich? Jesus how screwed up has this country become

Nah. There is a reason they're poor in the first place. Not my problem.  If the government wants to do that they need to figure out how to do it with less of my tax dollars not more.

But good news is you can donate all your money and all your time if you want. Go for it.

I thought you supported tax cuts?  Now you're saying tax hikes are better?
