Oh wait no it's not...TRUMPPPPPPPPP I don't think the issue is so much about how much money corporations make, it's how few taxes they pay on those profits. Wanna lower the debt? Demolish some of the ridiculous write-offs these companies get. You and I have a higher tax burden than most Fortune 500 companies do, and ours is going up while theirs is falling. Sadly, it’s not all good news… Quote However, inflation remains higher than the Federal Reserve would like. The Fed’s favored inflation gauge — called the personal consumption expenditures index, or PCE — climbed to a 2.8% annual pace last quarter, up from 2.1% in the second quarter. Excluding volatile food and energy prices, so-called core PCE inflation was 2.9%, up from 2.6% in the April-June quarter. 4th quarter numbers will be very telling. A lot of consumer confidence reports say people planned on spending 20-25% less this Christmas. What people say and what they do doesn’t always match. So we will have to wait and see…

Not slowing down, not correcting...doomed!!! it was over Yet, here we are. What is happening???? Since you called me out I'll respond, even though you aren't mature enough to respond to me, but I know you will read this. I never said the economy was doomed, this is your RDS. What I said was that it will cause inflation, and it has. Has it caused as much inflation as I thought? No. I can explain why... 1) Trump backed off the comical level tariffs like the 150% on China and the tariffs on things we don't make like coffee and bananas. That has helped bring those specific prices down. 2) Corporations went on an importing spree before the tariffs started with inventories lasting for most of 2025. 3) Corporations have eaten much of these tariffs. This one blew me away, but it happened. Trump pressured CEOs not to pass it through and many bent the knee. 4) Several elements of the economy have slowed which has naturally brought down inflation even with higher prices. Less demand has limited the impact of higher prices. I thought we would be between 3 and 4 by now so I was wrong on this. What does 2026 look like? 1) Tariffs could disappear any day now via SCOTUS which would be good and invalidate any points below. 2) Pre Tariff inventories have been depleted and corporations will have no choice now but to pass more and more of the tax onto consumers. 3) A new fed chair will drop rates which will cause more investment and higher inflation. So assuming 1 doesn't happen, I believe 2 and 3 will drive inflation higher during this year. We'll see...

Ron_Artest 2,758 Posted 7 hours ago Income inequality increased in 2025. K shaped economy. Rich getting richer, poor getting poorer. Key Inequality Trends in 2025 Concentrated Spending: According to the Dallas Federal Reserve, the top 20% of earners accounted for a record-breaking 57% of all consumer spending through the first half of 2025, while the bottom 80% faced tighter budgets due to high shelter and service costs. Wage Divergence: High-paying industries (like Tech and Finance) saw significant wage growth, while "job hopper" premiums for lower-wage workers evaporated as hiring slowed. In New York, for instance, total wages grew by 8% in early 2025, driven almost entirely by the highest-paid sectors. Asset Growth: The Federal Reserve’s interest rate cuts in late 2025 tended to boost the stock market and real estate values. Since the top 10% of households hold roughly 67% of total household wealth, these policy shifts disproportionately benefited the wealthy. Shrinking Wealth Share: As of mid-2025, the bottom 50% of the US population held just 2.5% of total household wealth, while the top 0.1% saw their share grow to nearly 14%.
