A smart person would realize that nations need borders, that citizenship, like American Express membership, has its privileges, and that we need to control national, state, and local policy and resources so we may plan rather than having the vagaries of illegal immigration impose undue burdens on the nation, state, and localities.  We need to run the country and set policies, and not leave it to folks with self-interst but no citizenship affiliation and thus no national interest..

The last time I was in Europe none of the stores I visited wanted to accept my American Express card. They kept asking me if I could Visa instead because the charges were so high. It made me wonder what’s the point of having Amex?

I'm merely saying that colleges, publishers, special interest groups, and corporations are paying big money to politicians and former presidents for making appearances and making bank on it for very little effort.  I see that as no different than Trump trying to sell watches, cologne, or any other kind of thing.  I'm not making any claims that they're stealing tax money, just putting it out there that I don't understand the rationale to be willing to give your money to things like that.

My guess is that in large part that it's to put money into the pockets of the politicians as grift for getting things done at the government level, that help these groups make (or save), money.  Meaning, they're paying off a bribe so to speak.  For example, Bill Clinton passes a bill into law (The Telecommunications Act), that allows big corporations to buy little corporations in the media industry giving more control of information to corporations (weird that it's supposed to be Republican's who do that).  To thank Clinton for that, these major media outlets pay Bill $100k here, $100k there, and alike, to come speak at events for like 30 minutes.  Things like that.

But I know nothing about radio advertising so maybe it's not ESPN, maybe it's a partner company.  I think audacy or whatever it's called now runs ESPN radio NY.

Based on that, it looks like a local NY radio station that will simulcast ESPN when they don't have anyone or anything, going on locally.  That's probably why you never hear any Trump stuff... unless they're saying something bad about him.  Of course, it's up to the stations to sell ad time and it's possible that Trump isn't wasting money in buying up that ad time in a demographic that wouldn't be favorable.  So it might be Trump's doing and not the radio stations.

It is an invasive influx of foreigners but not by foreign countries.  There is a marked distinction.  Many of the problems presented by the influx are urgent, but I would not call them a national emergency.  Raisng the question, for me, of what is a national emergency and is it defined and does it have legal standing).  Also, while there may be a role for the military in guarding the border and constructing the bordeer wall and deportation processing facilities I would not support the military conducting policing actions as that violates the law.

the part about the ad time could be accurate. As far as only simulcasting espn when there is nothing else going on can't be correct as it's espn radio all day every day for the last 15+ years. It's the only afternoon drive sports talk show to beat Mike Francesca and Russo in ratings.  It's mostly the same personalities that they rotate on different shows.  Michael Kay, Don Lagreca (rangers radio play by play), Peter Rosenberg (hot 97) were a 22 year long show.... but they also have or have had Alan Hahn, Bart Scott, Chris Canty, Rick DiPietro, Dave Rothenberg, Anita Marks, etc etc.  and occasionally, someone like Canty gets plucked for national.

Have you seen the countries in Europe that have lost total control because of massive immigration? It’s a national emergency to deal with the issue now before it’s too late. 
You may not see it outside your front door yet, but there’s nothing you could do if it got that far.

I get your point completely. But Trump selling some gimmicky items to people who think it's fun to have the stuff is not the same as special interest groups or rich multimillionaires with agendas donating millions for future favors. Putting politicians in their debt. And then....political influence ensues ad nauseum and bills put up in the house labeled as "Border Bill" by the democrats that holds 500 different agendas get created. 

Focking Trump selling that stuff is like what gazillions of Americans do to make a buck. It's actual real America. Buy it or don't buy it. Who cares? If I for some reason bought one of his promotional items, that is clearly not the same as if I gave some politician $2M for my personal business cause.
