Inner city versus rural school systems are in completely different boats. Not to mention that private schools can pick and choose students. So then all developmental disabilities, the most challenging students with discipline and poorest academic performers would just be left behind to public education with less resources because you take away funding to redistribute to the schools taking away some of their choice students. Cloaca du jour 2,135 Posted January 11 Our church used to do a community breakfast for disadvantaged. Till they started complaining about portions and menu. We got tired of the lack of greatfulness.

jbycho 365 Posted January 11 There are a lot of people out there spending a lot of money and time on raising their kids and helping friends and other family to assist in preventing them from being disadvantaged. Acting as role models all the way along for kids to grow up to be at least as functional and independent and healthy as they are. That right there is an invaluable service to society. To ask them to take care of other people because those people have been negligent in their lives is not a #1 priority in life. Personally, I do my share, but I always want to know that the people I choose to help, are using my help to fix their lives or the situation they are in and not just using it as a crutch to get by. Sometimes people need help, temporarily. If you can understand why the Titans and Browns need help you should also understand why people who fall on hard times need help too. You understand that the teams that stinks, still add similar funds to the pot as those who don't, right?

Nothing fancy, but nicer than say the townhouse I lived in when I first started out after law school. It was a three bedroom place and had a signle car garage. The person who got the house was featured on the news. It was a nice little presentation. The news walked her through the new home. When she got to the garage she wanted to know why she was not being given a car in addition to the house, after all there was a garage and did we really expect her to have to walk the two blocks over to the nearest bus top. That was the last time I gave time to Habitat. Instead I spend my efforts building and rehabbing trails and planting trees.

And, as such, you've done more to combat "climate change" than 99.9% of the dooshbags that complain about it.

I serve on a board of a food kitchen and try to serve on the line a couple times a year, probably should do more. My experience is that almost everyone who receives a tray of food is grateful and let's you know how thankful they are you are there to help.
