Uh oh. This invokes climate change whining in Africa. No cocoa beans because the climate changes over the years here on earth.

Finally it comes out! Liberals are pissed because they can't get their Avocado Toast. OMG, IT'S 49 cents more!!! 😂

Wait till the price of Tampons goes up, Liberal Men are going to flip.

Ohhh boy, Liberals are going to lose it if they can't have their Avocado Toast. Let's hope they don't raise the price on Mocha Choca Lattes.

But what are you going to do when the prices go sky high for items you use?

Like chewing tobacco, copper for your backyard still, fabric for weaving confederate flags, electricity to power your infinite internet tranny searches...

You’re right about the first 3 things but no matter how expensive things get he will always find money for searching out trannies. It’s become his life’s sole purpose.

So the good news is Trump is suspending the tariffs on the big 3 auto companies. This is at least a start. The stock market is rebounding somewhat due to this news.

Lol what you mean is that he’s 75 steps behind what he decided to do the day before.

Yeah. Sure. It all comes down to your narrative. Not the people's view who have voted Trump in and the people who are in charge.

You are seriously out of your element timmy.

Can someone explain why the pay your fair share folks are anti-tariff other than it’s Trump?  And for the record, I don’t think tariffs are preferable. However, I don’t have a problem using them as incentives to get policy/trade concessions from other nations.

We need to be honest that having lower tariffs here than other countries may lead to lower prices but it does drive production out of the U.S. One must balance those two things when evaluating their merits.

They are in essence a tax collected by our government on foreign made goods. They would be inflationary to the point of either increasing foreign production costs or shifting those costs so that there is a cheaper domestic alternative, bringing jobs onshore to mitigate some of the inflation on the shelves.

At the end of the day they are mostly equivalent to a consumption tax paid by the end user.

per your first sentence, yes it's mainly because of Trump.  The same people complaining now did so when Trump did tariffs in his first term.  OMG disaster!!!  except Biden & team kept them all in place.  go figure.  Imagine getting upset with finding billions of our tax dollars being WASTED.  Everyone should be happy as hell but,   yep, same old=========but TRUUUUMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Regarding the rest of your diatribe, you make way too much sense.

I had forgotten but it was pointed out by some talking head Trump did a trade deal with Canada already in his first term. Is that right?

I do know that he did a lot of tariffs that you & the left were pissed about.  Then Biden got elected, kept them & nobody was upset.

Yes, he negotiated the NAFTA replacement with Canada and Mexico.  Now he says it's unfair.

Another lie. Biden did not keep all of the prior Trump tariffs. Plus, he tweaked (to get rid of the unintended consequences) of the ones that were kept.

Anyone remember when the Dow dropped half a point last week and Tim and his liberal Boyosexuals were screaming that it was the end of the world and it's Trump's fault?

And when the Dow actually is up they then say, "The President has nothing to do with the stock market", but absolutely praised Biden when it happened?

Yeah, me too.  Good times.

Quote

The first Trump administration imposed tariffs on thousands of products valued at approximately $380 billion in 2018 and 2019, amounting to one of the largest tax increases in decades.

The Biden administration kept most of the Trump administration tariffs in place, and in May 2024, announced tariff hikes on an additional $18 billion of Chinese goods, including semiconductors and electric vehicles.

Your pants are on fire.

I remember when the exact opposite happened from 2020-2024. And from 2016-2020 before that.

The Biden administration nixed the Steel and aluminum tariffs, and made tweaks to the ones on China.

https://www.marketplace.org/2024/05/14/how-tariffs-compare-in-the-biden-and-trump-eras/

per your link:

“The work that was done through the Inflation Reduction Act to support U.S. electric vehicle manufacturing, batteries, critical minerals,” Lovely said.

Biden’s tariffs might be more targeted, but they’re also a lot higher. Rachel Brewster, a professor at Duke Law School, said the Trump administration set tariffs in the 10% to 25% range.

“What they were trying to do is say to the Chinese government, ‘We’re flexing our muscles. We’re hurting you. And so you need to talk to us,’” Brewster said.

But the Biden administration has raised certain tariffs a lot more. Semiconductors and solar cells will face a 50% levy. And tariffs on electric vehicles will rise to 100%.

so tariffs are only horrible when Trump does it?
