SaintsInDome2006 399 Posted April 11 34 minutes ago, shadrap said: so what are you implying? They burned down the capital? Quote On January 6, 2021, a mob professing support for then-President Trump violently attacked the United States Capitol in an effort to prevent a Joint Session of Congress from certifying the electoral college votes designating Joseph R. Biden the 46th President of the United States. The rampage left multiple people dead, injured more than 140 people, and inflicted millions of dollars in damage to the Capitol. Then-Vice President Pence, Senators, and Representatives were all forced to halt their constitutional duties and flee the House and Senate chambers for safety. Trump v. Thompson. The Real timschochet 6,468 Posted April 11 In this thread there have been several justifications of the tariffs based on the idea that we have to do something different because the national debt is so large (though the connection between tariffs and the national debt is tenuous at best). However the newly proposed Republican budget legislation increases the debt by 5 trillion dollars over the next 10 years. As usual with Republicans, they are choosing to cut taxes without cutting sufficient enough spending to cover it.

Unlike so many, I am not doing anything with my 401k or my investments. I think it's dumb to do so. Additionally however, if anyone believes China can win a trade war with the US long term, you're insane. A long term tariff battle against the US will destroy their economy. Now I know Timmy will come in here and say it will destroy the US as well, but nope. They need us way more than we need them.
