Something has to give. Cutting Medicaid is politically unwise, tax cut extension is certainly going to happen.

Will all play out over next few months.

Are you afraid that they'll cut off reassignment surgeries for Spider Monkeys? Doge is cutting off Billions in fat which will let them allocate.money for where it really needs to go.

And guess what, Biden never used a dime of his infrastructure Bill for infrastructure. It's all gone!!!!

What they aren’t getting is that the bullshitt spending may have happened, but it won’t be continued like it is.

I will stand with the lower and middle class magas as they turn their back on trump after cutting their Medicare and Medicaid so that musk can make more money.

We’ll see what DOGE ends up netting out. It’s a tiny fraction of the tax cut.

Not seeing specifics on what would be cut from Medicaid benefits but 900 billion over a decade is a big number.

Donald says it won’t be touched and that it will be “loved and cherished”.

People are routinely living to 90 and beyond now. Something has to happen. From my own experience many people in their 80’s are going to the doctors at least once a week. It’s unsustainable.

So you support less doctor visits for old people so that rich people can pay less in taxes?

The unnecessary visits. There are plenty. People in and out of these appointments in 15-20 minutes total after answering a few questions. That should be done on the  phone. Not Medicare, but last time I had a colonoscopy I had to go to the doctor first. Answered a few questions, he pushed on my abdomen asked if it hurt and that was it. I got to pay a co-pay and drive there and sit in a waiting room for that. Unnecessary and costly.

You're a moron.  Let me explain what's going on. The Trump administration has challenged the Department of Energy and Commerce to find the 900 billion. You see they oversee all kinds of stuff: Environmental, Energy, Health,  Oversight and Investgations, Communication and Technology.  There isn't ANY specifics yet on which of those are getting cuts. But, some sky screamers in the media took it upon themselves to connect one particular set of dots; DoEC - Health - Medicaid.  They get guppies like you worked up by saying they are going to cut Medicaid when if fact there is zero evidence of that yet.

You're making an argument in favor of telehealth?  Yeah trump just cut that. 🤣

Do you think it's more important for old people to get healthcare or for Elon musk to become a trillionaire?

That’s exactly what I said you even quoted it. 880 billion to come from Commerce / Energy.

Again, Tony. That’s what the thread is about how do they get to this number without cuts. The make believe number from DOGE don’t come close.

Wow. You are unashamed with your plagiarism.  You do it quite often. It appears the Telehealth was being abused resulting in unnecessary costs.  I’d like it to be used properly. So much fraud with Medicare.

So is about what they are going to cut or how they get the money without cuts?  Is English your second language?

It's not what your link says. It's a sky screaming article about Medicaid.

"President Trump’s vow to keep Medicaid intact is colliding headlong into the Republicans’ strategy to extend their 2017 tax cuts!!!!!"

Why link it if you didn't mean it.  One last time:  They haven't said they are nor do they need to cut Medicaid.

"Better controls" is just a euphemism for unelected deep state bureaucrats doing their jobs. Ironic.

No. It’s the health care industry not scheduling unnecessary procedures and billing us for it. Not happening? Ask Sonny.

Just another example of your willingness to unquestioningly throw the baby out with the bathwater. Of course some healthcare providers do this. Of course there is waste and fraud in the system. That doesn't mean you nuke the whole thing while ignoring the huge amounts of people gaining benefit from it. I used to work at a clinic in an extremely rural area. Telehealth was a godsend for some of those folks; I billed for it. It costs less than an in-person visit in most cases, while also saving time and money in transportation for people who live on very tight budgets.

Good.  Put it on the record that Republicans are trying to take away healthcare from poor people to give themselves tax cuts.  It's pure theft. Let the voters see it and watch what happens in 2 years.

Fake News.  But, whatever it takes to get the tax cuts is AOK with me. 4.5 trillion in tax cuts.   WINNING.

24% of Americans get their health insurance from Medicaid.

Seniors. Working families. Millions of kids.

Republicans voted tonight to burn Medicaid to the ground.

And for what? To fund a giant tax cut for their billionaire friends.

A moral abomination.

Yup.  The Republican party has done a complete 180 from campaign to administration.

They campaigned on helping the working class, fiscal responsibility, fighting corruption, etc.

Now they are the party of elitist billionaires cutting middle class jobs and programs so they can have more power and money.

That's a great message for the democratic party in 2026.
