After 20+ years of  flying weekly, being away from home 4 days a week, I was able to call it  quits to that job and thought maybe it would be cool to keep busy doing something different away from the smug consultant coworkers I've had.  And the only people I know that don't think it's cool that I working part time as a mail guy are the dumbass self-righteous liberals on this site.  

They have no clue what a lot of these carriers make after they have put their time in at an office.  Where I work, most of the regulars have 20+ years in the job And they are making pretty damn good money. 

And I'll tell you, after dealing with many bltchy clients during my career job, it's awesome how like 95% of the time when I run into the people on my routes they are kind as can be to me. It's surreal how nice people are to their mail carriers.

Top salary is 75k with crazy overtime you might get to 100k.  200k doesn't happen.

JFC you’re some kind of touched. You have to be right about something you have no knowledge about. 79k to 100k is a cakewalk in OT , 30 hours a month. For years carriers were working 20-30 hours in OT a week. This is a by product of covid plus catering to Amazon. Focking dolt

Ya need to let this one go. When my staff were working forced OT and double time shifts during covid, I had a couple guys clear $100k on ~$20/hr jobs. They worked their asses off (or at least put in a ton of hours and sacrificed in their personal lives) for it.

The usps in the northeast never really recovered from covid.  They offered 3/4 pay if people wanted to sit at home. So we had a few guys that were going to retire jump on this but we lost new people and overnight the workforce was depleted to 75% . Add in vacations and sick calls we had 60% coverage but the job still has to get done. After the stay home program ended no one came back. New hires washout 60+%. It was a never ending hamster wheel. Guys made $$ at the cost of family life. Sucky situation

It's been said because you know absolutely nothing about how the pay works for the different classifications of mail carriers nor do you know about the process of how things work when someone new joins vs. when they have been there for many years. Nor do you know anything about their pay raises, health insurance, OT or extra work. It differs between city and rural carriers for example. And it differs between regulars and assistants (who actually cover the regular's shifts when they are out and do other types of deliver tasks that regulars don't do) 

And don't go look it up on some reddit post telling you some angry person's experience because even those who have worked there for many years most likely don't  know about all those things across all classifications.
