Famous for A Season on the Brink about Bobby Knight and his time on ESPN Sports Reporters show.

A great book.

Have read a bunch of his golf ones that are also good. He was a classic old school prickly guy who could spin a yarn.

His PGA book was a great one as well.  A Good Walk Spoiled was the one I remember.

I mix a lot of these up but the one about the Q School and then another one about The Ryder Cup 2016 I enjoyed. If you like his stuff and don’t read those worth a look, Dude really cranked out material.

Way back in the day he used to do a weekly call in to the local Seattle morning sports shiow. The host was making fun of him (host was a wannabe Howard Stern) and Feinstein got all pissy and hung up and I don’t think he ever came back which I remember listening to 😂

He (along with Lupica, Ryan, Albom, Saunders, and some others) were pioneers of sports talk on tv with the Sports Reporters in ESPN Sundays in the 90’s.  I loved that show.  The parting shots were always great.

Interesting guy, I've read a lot of his stuff.  He wasn't all that old so I was shocked to hear the news.

I remember that. Early Sunday morning. I enjoyed that show! All those guys were good talking the topics of the day. There was some sloppy fat guy who was great.

Another one that was good of his “The Last Amateurs” a season following the Patriot League up in the Northeast. I dated a girl who went to Lehigh a long time ago which IIRC was the worst team in that league the year he covered this so was enjoying the description of where she was from.

Feinstein had a quote from the last kid on the bench from that team who took pride in being the worst player on the worst team in the worst league in Division 1 NCAA 😂

I just read his latest book (about racism in the NFL; he wrote it in defense of Kapernaek). Very sorry to hear this.

Racists love reading about racism.

And screw that idiot kaepernick. Glad he never got a job in the nfl again. Is he still alive even? Who cares?

Buncha cucked liberal b1tches.

Pee Wee Vermin (Lupica) and Albom may have been a combined 5 feet tall ... small men with horrendous agendas - that entire cabal can kiss my hairy arse.

You can toss befuddled Bill (Rhoden) up in there as well, infants that only say "goo, goo" have a better grasp of the English language than that stooge.

The emasculation of sports scribes ground zero, that show.  Utter filth.

I think that was Bill Conlin.  The show jumped the shark when Schaap passed away and they started having more women hosts.  They killed the vibe (except Sarah Spain’s majestic ta tas).

Of all the stuff he wrote, of course you would bring race up right away.

That was the guy. And yeah I remember Schapp now that you mention him. Trip down memory lane.

It seems like his appearances buffered his book releases. I remember him on there quite a bit.  Probably not starting 5 (Lupica, Schaap, Saunders, Ryan and Albom), but definitely was a top bullpen arm.
