You should never take chemicals for what normal habits could accomplish.

Except when drinking or enjoying recreational drugs.

Not a doctor, etc.

If someone has had a very difficult time losing weight no matter what they've tried, are genuinely obese or borderline, and have really given forth an honest effort, these weight loss injections are probably good for that individual. From a societal standpoint, it's probably a net positive as these people should (theoretically) lose weight, and thus avoid costly health care procedures in their future.

For people who are borderline overweight, have half-heartedly put forth an effort, but then jump on these injections like it's a cosmetic thing? IDK man. Maybe try harder first (IMO).

Well duh, that goes without saying.

Probably true for a lot of people, but not all.  Mrs. MLCKAA has let herself go and started taking Wegovy 8 weeks ago.  She’s lost 15 lbs so far.  For her it’s def not like going from a double cheeseburger to a single.  She has no appetite at all and that’s with telling her doc she wants to stay at a low dose to lose slowly.

I’d say she’s eating 20% less food than her 5’6” frame requires.  There have been days when she’s come home from work and reported eating nothing all day and I have to insist she eat dinner.  Certainly a weird medication.

I wasn't trying to be literal with the ratio.  My point was that it suppresses appetite but doesn't change the type of food you eat.

I'm glad it is helping your wife, and I hope it leads to a happier, healthier future for her.

I knew your point and I was just furthering the convo.  I’m sure it’s leading to a healthier future for her.  Others can criticize the overweight as being lazy or taking the easy route with medications, but my wife isn’t lazy and never looks for the easiest way to anything.  She’s a president, works 60 hours a week and is a mom.  She could eat more rabbit food, but I have to admit I don’t see where she’d squeeze in a workout routine.-

My goal is to never take a prescription my entire life. I will make whatever natural change I need to avoid them. Losing weight seems like one of the easiest ones to solve without medication. There are always side effects.

The side effects from eating healthy are that you feel better.

What in the F? Why would you assume this? I will take one if absolutely necessary. You have no idea how powerful our natural healing is.

You're the guy that when you need money, you do a good deed and then God gives you money, right?

This actually happened to me this weekend. I needed money for something. I was debating on spending it. I told my higher self that if the money came to me in an unexpected way, I would go through with it. It did. I actually received more opportunities to make money than I could take advantage of.

It was a resounding confirmation from God that the universe takes care of me. Only a blind person would attribute the circumstance to chance.

I love food but I also have no issues fasting.  Food is not my problem, it's the drinking.  If I quit drinking and got some more exercise I bet I could lose 30lbs pretty quickly.

And if you lose the 30 you can keep drinking as long as you exercise and eat fairly good and stay in shape. Cut the drinking down to no more than 2 days a week to get rid of the 30.

Prescription medication used to treat type 2 diabetes in adults. It works by mimicking a natural hormone called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1).  However people are taking it like candy for weight loss.  I know friends who are not obese but just a bit overweight taking this stuff.  Is it a miracle drug or what's the catch?  There is always a catch....No?

And no, I am not taking it, nor thinking about it.  I am not perfect (unlike most Geeks) and have my own issues but weight loss is not one of them.  I am genuinely concerned for some of my loved ones and friends.

It's going to come out a few years from now this stuff causes cancer or some disease isn't it?

Cancer

I thought that was already known
