mmmmm...beer 790 Posted April 9 Man yesterday looked great for awhile. Looked again after the market closed... boooo.... Retirement account is down quite a bit, but I'm just going to ride through this one. I've focked up trying to time the bottom before.

I bought during the “dip” last week only to lose 10% of that. Compared to what it was trading at, I still feel comfortable with what I did. I’m a little too puckered to jump in more right now, but I know I’ll regret it later.

The fed has already stated that they are anticipating higher inflation from the tariffs. “Given the paramount importance of keeping long-run inflation expectations anchored and the likely boost to near-term inflation from tariffs, the bar for cutting rates even in the face of a weakening economy and potentially increased unemployment is higher,” Minneapolis Fed President Neel Kashkari wrote in an essay released Wednesday morning. “The hurdle to change the federal funds rate one way or the other has increased due to tariffs.” https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-04-09/fed-leans-against-inflation-and-away-from-preemptive-rate-cuts

The timing comment was a joke, not surprised you didn't pick up on that, I'm not trying to time anything. If it gets to 160.00 I'll buy another chunk. Maybe another at 150.00. It's a version of DCAing in when I'm flush with cash. Note: I'm not saying that's a good idea for anyone else or sound investing.

Actually that would be interesting considering the max annual contribution to a Roth IRA is $7K and that's only if you make less than $150k but I don't really care what fraud you pulled. I was just pointing out that you have been flush with cash for a long period of time with strong growth and returns in equities.

No fraud required, just investment practices that you're obviously unaware of, shocker. Let me know if you need any of that explained further for you. In your high earning years it's hard to not be flush with cash all the time. That doesn't mean that cash doesn't get invested as soon as possible. And the cash just keeps coming. And as you know I actually love high inflation because that means high interest rates.

That post says $7K for Roth (actually $8k for over 50) which is what I said. Not $90k into a Roth. Also assumes your AGI is under $150k
