Happy 4th of July!  On this day of independence, we must remember things that truly make America great, like our constitution

Independence from tyranny, freedom for life liberty and the pursuit of happiness, ideals of honesty and integrity, dignity for all, equality and prosperity.  Let's remember what America is really about and how one day it will return.

And you accuse me of personal attacks?  How many times have you used that 10 year old level nickname?  This tony guy has a mansion inside your head.

I accuse you because you make them. As do I, but I only go after those that come at me first. And sometimes I eventually make nice with folks that I exchange nasty remarks with, like @EternalShinyAndChrome and @Patented Phil (where has he been?).

TonydeadRogerJuneHorseman is generally an insulting, dismissive POS with nothing decent or positive to say that openly cheers on other's misery and has gone to the lengths of posting swastikas here. If you wanna defend him, go for it.

Also, let's be fair here. Horsemanure is a pretty inspired nickname.

I attack those that earn them as well.  Gutter.  Rusty.  Squis.   Guess we aren't all that different.

Who knows?

Haven't seen him since the thread about the 13 year old cancer survivor that Trump highlighted at his State of The Union address. In that thread I quoted some MSNBC on-the-air commentary by Nicole Wallace. Phil took offense that I did that and tagged Mike asking that I be banned from this forum for quoting her (although what he wanted me banned for were comments she made that I hadn't quoted 😕). He hasn't posted after that and I don't know if that thread was the reason or he just got tired of this place (and, no, I didn't report him).

Why would you assume that?  I “responded” to you! I just chose not to answer that part because it was a stupid question that is blatantly obvious.

You're right @Meglamaniac, this board is so bad that people are now demanding evidence of things that are blatantly obvious.

But if you insist @Strike, and since I did appreciate you calling out @Maximum Overkill in the other thread, here ya go:

1) Senator Van Hollen confirmed the glasses were placed on the table after the meeting had already started, which he says can be confirmed with video, and that neither he nor Abrego Garcia drank any of them, which can also be confirmed by the full rim of salt still present.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/sen-van-hollen-pours-cold-water-margarita-gate-photo-op-el-salvador-trip-nobody-drank

2) Senator Van Hollen also stated that they put less liquid in Abrego Garcia’s glass to make it look like he had drank from it, and they initially wanted to have the meeting by the pool.  Interestingly Fox News left these comments out of their article

https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/5256589-van-hollen-abrego-garcia-margarita/

3) Being clear, there’s a good chance they were water and not even margaritas

4) Bukele himself was the one that posted the photo and has even commented since about “margaritas,” evidence it was staged:

https://x.com/nayibbukele/status/1913028548001923259

https://x.com/nayibbukele/status/1931084729840800096

Bump for @Strike.  Are you ready to admit that the “margaritas” were propaganda?

My guess, he’ll nitpick one small aspect of the above, like “it’s possible for margaritas to be clear!” yet still claim to have “no opinion.”

Your only "evidence" is the word of the Senator who made a political trip to meet this guy.  If anyone was politicizing this it was that Senator so why would I accept his word about ANYTHING?

Several of his claims can be backed up by photo and video.

What is the “evidence” Van Hollen and Abrego Garcia were actually drinking margaritas other than the words of a self-described dictator?

Let’s also use Occam’s razor, since I know you and @jerryskids like that.  Would Occam’s razor tell you that a prison would be legitimately serving margaritas to someone their president called a terrorist?

ROFLMAO.

1)  I already asked you for evidence.  If you've got some, post it.   And post ALL THAT YOU HAVE.  Quit with the "here's a piece of evidence."   Oh, that's not reliable?  Well I have more that I didn't show before.  Either show it or STFU about it.

2)  I don't need to prove that someone with a drink in front of them is likely drinking it.  FFS.

3)  Why wouldn't they serve them Margaritas?  He's a sitting Senator.  Presumably that's why they agreed to let him meet with the prisoner in the first place.  Maybe the Senator requested them.  Who knows, but out of courtesy to an official from a foreign government it's more than reasonable that a host country might provide food and beverages.

Lol I can’t believe we’re having this conversation, I’m done.  It’s obvious it was propaganda and I provided the evidence.  Not my fault you’re a sheep that will only believe what your side says to believe.

Again, your evidence was from the Senator who took a self serving political trip to El Salvador, without even the approval of congress and without notice to the country he was visiting.  So yeah, it's not very compelling.  And now that you've been shown WHY it's not compelling, and despite your claims that there is MORE evidence, you're running away.  Beaten again.  C ya.

As he correctly stated, if anyone had drank from the glasses there would have been some salt/sugar missing.  There wasn’t.

I do need to admit I was wrong though.  You don’t only believe your side.  You do also believe fake news from CBS if it backs up your claim like with the kid in North Dakota.

What does that have to do with the ability to have an honest conversation.  The fact that you keep pointing that out proves you're incapable.

Your inability to follow Mike's rules is a direct reflection on your ability to have an honest conversation.  HTH.

Didn’t he admit to breaking the rules, then even admit to being wrong about denying that he broke the rules after you quoted his original post admitting to breaking the rules?

Why do you tag me in things like this?  Are you still sore about being gaslit by SuppressedIntellectNews?

I have no idea what's customary in El Sal, nor do I know if the president wanted to make a show of the event, so I see no clear Occam's Razor for this one.  HTH

You think Occam’s razor would give much possibility to imprisoned “terrorists” being served margaritas?  Lol

Perhaps margaritas, or tequila in general, are popular in El Sal culture. Like wine in France and scotch in Scotland.  And perhaps that was a way for them to show us that they are treating him well, true or not.

You are having a rough few weeks.  You used to be good about receipts; now you just blindly believe whatever supports your biased moderate beliefs. :(

Maybe in the “culture,” not for focking imprisoned “terrorists,” JFC.   I better not see you ever talking about Occam’s razor on here again.

And I already provided the evidence that neither Van Hollen nor Abrego Garcia actually drank either of the drinks.   And it can also be proven that the drinks were placed on the table after the meeting had already started.  And based on the appearance of the drinks there’s a good chance they were just water anyway.

Also Tim, you lol'd at the thought of Abrego Garcia trying to run, when his options are (1) be deported, or (2) go to prison, then be deported.  You clearly don't understand Occam's Razor.  You seem to think it is whatever supports your highly biased moderate opinion.

So you think Occam’s razor would say that the most likely outcome would be that he’d run?

I acknowledged that it was theoretically possible that he would run, but I don’t think it’s the most likely since it would take a lot of resources to pull off successfully, and if he’s caught they’d do worse things to him than they did at CECOT

No, I didn't say that.  I think it's too close to assign a clear Occam's Razor.

I was laughing at you Lol-ing about the very possibility.

I think him not running would be far more likely, but I can accept the lol-ness being debatable.

Thinking that there’s a chance the  “margaritas” were anything but intentional propaganda on the part of Bukele is definitely lol-worthy though.

Whistleblower Emails Expose Fresh Trump Abuses in Abrego Garcia Case

https://newrepublic.com/article/197793/kilmar-abrego-garcia-whistleblower-emails-expose-trump-abuses

Quote

For instance, one key exchange occurred on March 31, when the government was submitting a brief in litigation over Abrego Garcia’s fate. Up to this point, the emails show, ICE had declared Abrego Garcia was in MS-13, and officials were scrambling to pin down the basis for that determination.

In the March 31 exchange, James Percival, senior counselor to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, was debating with other top officials—at DHS, DOJ, and State—what could be said to the court about Abrego Garcia. One of those officials was Reuveni.

“Can we say the following?” Percival asked, then listed several things he’d like the administration to say about Abrego Garcia, one being: “This guy is a leader of MS-13.”

“If we can get a declaration to that effect, yes,” Reuveni answered. This meant the assertion could not be made without a facts-and-evidence-based declaration from ICE on Abrego Garcia’s status.

In other words, top DHS officials apparently were pushing to characterize Abrego Garcia as an MS-13 “leader” before any evidence of this had appeared. And Reuveni expressly warned against doing this absent such evidence.

Subsequently in that chain, an ICE official (whose name is redacted) answered Percival’s question about whether it’s OK to call Abrego Garcia an MS-13 “leader.”

“I have not found anything indicating ‘leader,’ but I’ll keep looking,” the ICE official wrote, meaning that the hunt for such evidence would continue.

It never materialized. That ICE official did identify Abrego Garcia as a “verified member” of MS-13, based on a formal declaration which at this point had been provided by ICE.

But this too would ultimately prove to be lacking in evidence. That claim was based on a ruling by a judge early in the 2019 proceedings to deport him (resulting in him receiving protected status) after he’d been arrested in Maryland the first time and transferred to ICE.

But that ruling rested on “double hearsay,” on paperwork filed by a Maryland cop after Abrego Garcia’s 2019 arrest that cited an unnamed confidential source, and neither the cop nor the source were cross-examined. The cop was subsequently suspended and indicted for serious professional misconduct on an unrelated case.
