I wasn't being serious.  I just know to go down that rabbit hole will yield a lot of b.s. and not worth wasting my time.

What are you talking about about?

Harvard is nurturing an environment of antisemitism.

Yes, Jewish people are protected by the Civil Rights Act of 1964, particularly under Title VI, which prohibits discrimination based on national origin. Title VI also prohibits discrimination based on race and color. While Title VI doesn't explicitly mention religion, the U.S. government has interpreted it to include discrimination against Jewish people based on their shared ancestry and ethnic characteristics.

Yeah right.  It's not an excuse or anything.

Look if there is antisemitism on campus it should be stopped, obviously.  But that's just a red herring.  Trump is extorting institutions, traditionally liberal institutions to bend to his will.  Law firms, universities, media.  It's all an exercise in authoritarianism but I'm sure you just refuse to see it.

The problem is that Trump’s demands have more to do with getting rid of DEI and African-American history and a number of other issues that have nothing to do with anti-semitism.

The other problem is Trump and MAGAs think any criticism of Israel is a Call for the Extermination of Jews.

From the River to the Sea … Reeee!!! 🌊

Those college kids are ignorant and just repeating words they hear.  Especially the 30 year old Palestinian students from Syria who have been trained in the UNRWA Hamas training grounds.

Islam is anti Jew. They say so all the time.  Not just anti Israel.

It's both.  On the DEI side, I've seen my own school explode in the number of DEI and DEI-adjacent staff.  These salaries get paid for, in part, by the money skimmed off the top for "administration" of federal grants, which is why Trump put in the 15% limit.  Our tax dollars shouldn't pay for that stuff.

It would be nice if we had a POTUS you could trust to differentiate whatever students you’re talking about from regular protestors, but Trump has amply proven his clown show incompetence and it’s not even May. :(

I don't completely disagree with this.  There is antisemitism on campuses, and Trump is using that as a wedge to attack the higher problem of systemic, DEFCON 1 Leftism on most campuses.

I'll admit that I don't know how to fix that latter problem.  I think it is a very serious problem (I'll stop short of "existential," as I don't want to dilute the importance of that word) that needs addressing though, and my hope is that the courts rein in whatever needs reining.

I think we are seeing Trump's "art of the deal" on a macro scale -- ask for everything and try to negotiate back from there.  I think that is probably a fine approach for this problem.  I'm more concerned about the approach with tariffs and other global issues, over which we as a country do not have control.

I described Khalil, the hero victim of your side.

If there are students with no ties to terrorism and who haven't terrorized Jews on campus, I agree with you.  Feel free to list them and their claim to innocence.

As we’ve seen at the Geek Club, hysterical MAGAs think “from the River to the Sea” is a genocidal death threat. I don’t trust the agitated old lady in charge to make this call. He’s not exactly a rock of stability. :(

I'll take that as "I've got no examples, I just want to rant again about Trump."  Carry on.

Is there a way to discuss Trump’s policies without mentioning the POTUS?

Let them defend Harvard. Normies don’t care about Harvard and don’t want them supported by taxpayers. . They have the absolute worst scores for freedom of speech amongst ALL colleges in America. They were admonished and defeated by the Supreme Court because they were discriminating in their admissions process and violated the Constitution. And, they allowed anti Semitism to fester unchecked on campus to such a degree that it led to the ouster of their plagiarist DEI hire President because of her incompetence in dealing with it.

Harvard has an endowment of over $50 billion.  The interest alone if that is invested in the most conservative vehicle is in excess of the $2.2 billion funding.  If I'm not mistaken they also have tax exempt status.  I'm not sure why we are subsidizing them with taxpayer dollars at all, regardless of all the other debate.

FIRE

Quote
  1. Harvard University is this year’s bottom ranked school for free speech for the second year in a row. Joining it in the bottom three are Columbia University and New York University. All three of these schools have an “Abysmal” speech climate. The University of Pennsylvania and Barnard College round out the bottom five and each has a “Very Poor” speech climate.

Harvard has a top medical research infrastructure; I'm fine giving them money for advanced research.  Most everything else, meh...

Wut?  I asked the following:

Instead of providing specific examples, you just kept on screeching.  :dunno:

“Terrorized” 😂

I have no idea what you want examples of. I don’t trust the hysterical woman in charge to tell the difference between peaceful protesting and terrorizing any more than I trust you.

Hundreds of lawyers and other staff members are leaving the Justice Department's civil rights division, as veterans of the office say they've been driven out by Trump officials who want to drop its traditional work to aggressively pursue cases against the Ivy League, other schools and liberal cities.

As always with Trump it is just vendettas that guide him.

Been that way forever, won't change
