Yes, as in 2020 here in L.A., there is some looting but by a criminal element who come out after the protests have ended for the day to take advantage of the situation. And these thugs don't care about ICE and probably weren't even aware of the deportation arrests until the protests started.

I just saw a talking head say that the peaceful protestors simply like to watch a fire as if they are beachgoers enjoying a bonefire and heating up some smores.

 

Question, if the tent cities caught on fire would that constitute a burning building.  They are domiciles, but not buildings in my mind, though some of them do have some structural lumber?  

 

This seems an opportunity to clear out some of those tent cities.  Whoops, a firework scittered into that tent and caught that whole row on fire and the LAFD could not get there through the crowds, and even if they did there may not have been water in the hydrants.

I cannot understand how so many of you just refuse to believe that riots and protests can coexist. This started as peaceful protest, but was then co-opted by a criminal element that is completely separate from those that are there trying to be heard while exercising their rights. The criminals riot. The protestors stay peaceful then go home.

J6 was a peaceful protest. Then a relatively small % of those people started to riot and commit crimes. Same with summer 2020. This always happens. The incessant need to score points on each other is so fuking tiresome.
