There is a real chance he doesn’t make the roster.  He had that nice performance in 1 game but has otherwise done nothing to distinguish himself as a rookie.  Gabriel, as a 3rd rounder, has a leg up just on draft pick value.  And Pickett is an experienced player as a QB2.

You may be right in your assessment that Pickett is a jag, but they have to think about QB2 and that surely isn’t Gabriel or Sanders.

A team as bad as Cleveland should be thinking 2-3 years down the line vs. worrying about the backup QB this year IMO. They get more out of giving Gabriel / Sanders game reps then trying to squeak out a 4th or 5th win with a QB who won’t be on the roster in a few years.

I am surprised no one here was talking about this at all, even just from a standpoint of "how does this help his career?" Did these antics earn him more respect from his teammates and organization? From other organizations he may play for in the future? 

Instead of acting professional and just continuing to put in the work and bide his time, he's likely killing his career. Let's say he never gets to start for Cleveland long term and no team signs him after his rookie deal is up.  Yikes. I can only imagine the blackballed outrage. 

I get he is upset and frustrated but the Brown drafted Gabriel ahead of him. What did he think was going to happen if they moved away from Flacco?
