I dispute.  Trump never sanctioned it.  He watched as it got built for years. He was told by Putin to stay out of it for years and he bowed and followed along.  Congress finally issued the sanctions in 2020 when it was almost completed.  Russia continued building the pipeline and Biden lifted the sanctions in 2021 at the request of Germany months before it was completed.  Sanctions went back on after Russia invaded Ukraine.  Now THOSE are the facts

Sanctions.  Political pressure.  Congress passed the sanctions after it was mostly built.  Trump could have hit Russia with sanctions to stop it, could have worked with other countries, etc.  It's what good presidents do.

If I learned anything from the Jewish Cell Phones operation it is that one is careful with what tech they embrace.  Lots of tech on that plane.  I imagine the review and systems changes will take years and cost millions.  If the Qataries wanted to assist America maybe they could have donated to the general fund.

IIRC "QATAR" is splattered in big capital letters right across the body. Can't really buy the kind of endorsement power that comes with an American President waddling into your plane with your government's name emblazoned right above him. That's the sort of image that lasts forever.
