Impossible.Ā  Squidtard told us he looked out his front window of his tent in his homeless encampmentĀ and didn't see any violence, looting, vandalism or arson so this has to be fake news.Ā  I mean, HE LIVES IN CALIFORNIA!Ā  HE KNOWS THINGS!!!

Businesses, vehicles, infrastructure, and even public benches were vandalized and destroyed by protesters this week after protests erupted in Los Angeles over the arrest of dozens of illegal immigrants by ICE.

A number of stores were also looted and damaged by protesters, including Adidas, T-Mobile, and a sportswear store.

ā€œSeveral fires were set in dumpsters and trash bins and dozens of buildings were tagged with graffiti, including the LAPD Headquarters, the U.S. Courthouse, and the old Los Angeles Times building,ā€ CBS NewsĀ reported. ā€œFootage on Sunday from the CBS News Los Angeles helicopter showed that multiple windows of the police headquarters had been shattered as well.ā€

Ā

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that the alphabet team considers vandalism, destruction, and looting to be the same as graffiti.

Graffiti is vandalism. :dunno:

Nothing quite like having the World Cup in your city and "FOCK ICE" is spray painted all over the place.Ā

Stay classy, LA.Ā

Yes, and if they catch the perpetrators they should be dealt with by the law.

But it is still not considered rioting. 😁

Magas didn't bring the illegals there.

I don't consider those who engaged in looting, vandalizing and violenceĀ as protestors.

As with the George Floyd, Rodney King, Watts and other riots, incidents set off a powerkeg, and that's when the opportunists swoop in to take advantage of the volatile and sometimes out-of-control situation. The opportunistsĀ might not even know who the president is and have never voted.

It's no different than those who take advantage of the chaos, destruction and lawlessness in aĀ major hurricane's aftermath. I've seen it first-hand. By the time all the cities between New Orleans and Houston had put up "No Vacancy" signs in Hurricane Katrina's aftermath, mostly human scum remained, and they were sent to the Astrodome, around which crime skyrocketed.

With 5 million Americans taking part in the No Kings protests, it's not fair to blame them all for the actions of a relatively small handful of knuckleheads taking advantage of the situation for their own personal gain or jollies.

Look it's pretty simple. Rioting, Looting, Graffiti, Vandalism, it's all wrong.Ā  It's also clear that looting a store is much worse thanĀ graffiti.Ā  There wasn't much in the way of looting.Ā  It's all mostly over now.

Actually in LA, there's already shiite all over the streets...sooo.... Ā :dunno:Ā Maybe the city is used to washing shiite off of everything, or the inhabitants are just used to it.Ā

Again, I think it's important to make a distinction between peaceful protestors and opportunists' criminal behavior. It's not fair to condemn the Constitution-supported actions of the many because of the criminal actions of a few.

I'd likeĀ to hear what those of you complaining about the rioting want done. By all accounts, this was pretty mild. When the Dodgers and Lakers win titles, the riots are worse than what is happening. The National Guard is there under dubious pretenses, the Marines are there... for no good reason I can discern other than president Toughguy wants to pick a noisy fight with California. ItĀ seemsĀ like you're calling for the end of protests generally. Is that the case?Ā

Focking @ feature won't work, but I'm pointing at @thenewgirl, @meglamaniac, @gladiators, @brahmabulls, @eternalshinyandchrome, etc.Ā

Who said I wanted anything more to be done other than calling this what it was.Ā  Semantics aside, "protesters or Rioters" aside, don't talk out of both sides your mouth and say it didn't happen, wasn't violent, wasn't large and then say you can't clean the mess up afterwards.Ā  I've never heard a Mayor ask for help cleaning up after a Championship 'celebration'

Have you??

I have not. But I think we have established that Bass is...Ā special.Ā I would not want her running my city, but I don't live in LA, so it's not my problem.

It did happen, it was violent (at times), but it wasn't "large." At least not by "LA riot" standards. I'm not trying to whitewash it or defend the actions of criminals. Use the full power of the DOJ against those that committed acts of violence or vandalism. I was just wondering what y'all were thinking.

So far, I've had Bernie/AOC less than 3 miles from my house, and the No Kings protests about the same distance at an extremely busy overpass/intersection.Ā

Neither one caused much strife other than increased traffic and lack of parking at local business/shopping centers.

For some reason, the inner/larger cities (Sacramento is closest to me)Ā tend to deal with much more vandalism, blocking freeways, people being hit by cars, etc.Ā

I don't think Squis is trying to say there was no rioting, only that it was nowhere near as severe as many are making it out to be.

100% agree with bolded.

That is not exactly what I said or was implyiing.

I didn't see any rioting or at least I wouldn't call it that (getting into semantics here). And I didn't say all that happened was just some graffiti. There wereĀ vehicle fires and in additionĀ looting confined to a two block area in Downtown L.A. (which ended after Karen Bass imposed a curfew, nothing to do with Trump and the Marines/National Guard).

Apologies if you’ve clarified this previously, when you say some of these groups ā€œfinancedā€ the protests, you don’t actually believe they ā€œpaid people to protestā€ or ā€œbussed the same people to multiple different protests,ā€ do you?

I think this is the question you mentioned this morning.

I believe there were most likely paid people at many of the actual protests (not three people in a bar who signed up), to organize things, set up hydration stations, probably hand out signs, etc.

I believe that there were probably some paid people protesting at the larger events.Ā  Not necessarily a lot: aĀ mob just needs a few people to lead the way with chants etc.Ā Ā

I don't know enough about the bussing to comment.Ā  It seems like somebody would have some evidence (like, videos of said buses) if it were true.Ā  But I haven't looked into it.Ā

Yeah I’d believe this, thank you. Ā But many seem to think the majority of the crowd was paid and/or bussed in.

No Kings patriots will protest again July 17. So much for MAGAs think this is going away. I'll be out there with them, standing up to a crooked, self-serving tyrannical administration.
