1) The article in the OP doesn’t say anything about being in a cult, Mr Strawman.  These 2 findings wouldn’t be mutually exclusive, if this one was actually based on anything scientific.

2) But, the article you linked isn’t based on anything scientific.  It does link a study saying that marriages are less likely to occur between people of differing political views than in the past, but says nothing about either side in particular
