Could get plenty of land at a fair price. Great food, great nightlife. Decent cost of living. No homeless, low crime. Got ruled out because of geography. Not near any real mountains. Everything else checks the boxes.

Crime: Fort Worth’s crime rates—especially for violent and property crimes—are notably higher than national averages, though they’re trending downward in 2025. Neighborhood conditions vary widely, with some areas (like West 7th) having heightened safety concerns, especially at night. Homelessness: Fort Worth carries the majority of the region’s homeless population, with recent increases. However, significant city-led and community efforts are underway to address the issue, including new resources, outreach, housing investments, and collaborative toolkits Maybe some day an elite Dem mayor will come in and fix the place up. To be fair my view was from the time I spent working there in 2009. The place we ultimately picked we visited 2 years prior and made many trips back between then and relocating. So if we headed towards DFW we would have found out how bad you make it out to be. Except you're wrong as usual. Quote Seattle generally has higher crime rates than Fort Worth, with Seattle's violent crime rate and overall crime rate both exceeding national averages, while Fort Worth's overall crime rate and violent crime rate are closer to the national average, or below it in some analyses. The perception of crime in Fort Worth is that it is a safe city, with only certain areas experiencing higher crime rates. In contrast, Seattle's violent crime rate hit a 15-year high in 2022, and the city also faces significant property crime issues.

Horseman 2,574 Posted yesterday at 10:02 PM Perhaps the general picked DFW because it's the largest inland Metropolitan area in the US. No, he's not that smart, plus he said no big cities are run by Republicans.

I mean, they have the worst public schools (because that's where the poor/minorities are), they have the worst crime rates (because, that's where the poor/minorities are), and the elites get to stay far away from them. They use the money that they make pandering to the poor/minorities, to make the elitist areas great. Then, they get to tell everyone how great of people they are. Meanwhile, the poor are still poor, they're still poorly educated, and they're still victims. Go figure.

I'd say that most of the people there want free stuff, and the people with money are willing to give it to them, as long as they stay away. In Boston in particular, the rich Back Bay folks will give the city a blank check to keep the coloreds in Roxbury where they belong.
