Yes they are the same. You justify thinking they aren’t however you like.

Protest is a form of complaining. HTH

The arguments they're making, aren't wrong.  Pointing out what's happening isn't "complaining" or calling for a boycott.

Yes they are.  Taking a cartoon man off of a logo and painting the walls white isn’t woke, lol.

And those people are saying things like “Cracker Barrel has decades of brand loyalty!” ignoring the fact that sales had been down for years. I’d be curious to know how many times they’ve actually eaten at one in the past 5 years.

Also, Beck in particular said this:

You go to Cracker Barrel for the rocking chairs outside, the meals that taste like grandma’s home cooking, and the simple game of Chinese checkers on the table.

I’m pretty sure none of that is changing…

Do you even fathom how many people read this forum but don't post, or post but avoid the political threads?  IOW, even here you're getting a subset that feeds your confirmation bias.  Here's a tip - Read multiple actual news sites and form your own opinions, and don't worry about what others say online.  And avoid gaming chat rooms.

I’m not sure how people that read but don’t post are relevant to this discussion…clearly I’m only referring to actual posts.

Hopefully the people saying that no one actually cares about this thought that a significant number of libs cared about the Sydney Sweeney jeans ad though…

Strike, I gotta give you credit, in the Sweeney thread I see you did actually say it was a “small minority of people b*tching,” so thank you for actually being consistent here.

And yes, I know I just made 3 (now 4) posts about Cracker Barrel at 5 AM on a Saturday.   At an Airbnb and the bed is super uncomfortable, can’t fall back asleep.

Actually you can blame women for two income homes. It was the feminist movement that caused it

Seriously, why couldn't women just learn their place and stay in the kitchen?  Damn feminists wanting human rights.

I'm always up early when I'm home.  When I'm traveling I'm up even earlier, when I go west coast even earlier.  I feel you.

Any decision that a DEI hire makes, is woke.  It's the reason that person was put in that place.

Wait aren’t you the guy who got told by your girlfriend when you were getting engaged?  You might want to take it easy on the attacks on women.

But it wasn’t really “for the sake of change,” they had already been declining.

the sign and the decor was not why it was declining, they were the reason they were popular to start with so yes, it was change for sake of change.

Food quality and price is where the changes needed to be and the proof is in the pudding with their stock plummeting after the changes were announced

Their stock plummeted because of the conservative outrage mob (edit: and it was declining before the changes were announced)

Their sign and decor isn’t why they were popular lolololol

Your post contradicted itself.  You said they should have focused on food and prices (I agree), but think the sign and decor were why it was popular?  Not to mention I can’t think of any place that is popular because of their sign except for maybe a strip club or something, that’s ridiculous.

No.  I didn't say they were.  Perhaps you should get some coffee before you try your first failed gotcha attempt.  :dunno:

The discussion was about conservatives in general whining all the time, so it was completely relevant.  Take the L, and go enjoy your family.

Nice to see that the Cracker Barrell around here didn't get the corporate memo, as they are still using the traditional old guy and barrel logo.

Probably worth noting that the rebrand does include new menu items, including apparently bringing back items that had previously been removed.  People seem to think they’re completely changing their strategy but they’re really not.

Just because it’s the last one left.  Next you’ll tell me Blockbuster Video shouldn’t have closed down because people drive hours to go to the last remaining one.

Pizza Hut is still going but people are flocking to the retro one, Blockbuster went under due to technology and not the same thing.

But people “flock to it” because there aren’t many left.  Doesn’t mean they’re sales would be any better if they all still looked like that

Pizza Hut sales been down over the last couple years and lots are closing and probably cause they changed the retro look in all the others.

Yep and change their recipe and why sales have been down for years.

So a redesign 15 years ago is why their sales are down over the last 2 years (assuming that’s true)?  Interesting theory

Their recipe more so but yea that is a part. People want the retro look when the food tasted better.
