No I’m pointing out the absurdity of the argument that greater armed force leads to less crime. Of course it does. It also leads to more authoritarianism, less individual liberty. Generally the price is too high. 
 

I do not equate the National Guard to the Gestapo. I DO however equate ICE, under Trump, to the Gestapo. I think that’s a reasonable analogy, given ICE’s willingness to break or subvert the law, wear masks, arrest innocent people, etc.

I'm all for them coming to "red" Birmingham.  Crime is bad in the city and is a problem.  Those of us around not committing crime would see improvement from that.  Although, Mayor Siebels went out of office in 1975 when I was 1 year old, he has one hell of a reach from the grave to keep the city red.

He won reelection last week as well.  Woodfin isn't nearly as bad as some of the recent mayors.  Policy wise I don't agree with him on almost anything.  But he's not had the corruption issues that have plagued the city and he's a younger guy, not part of the old establishment.

I think they are actually planning on going to red states soon.  Of course the admin and the GC will just blame any current crime issues on if they have a Democrat mayor
