Fields vs Pittsburgh

Recommended Posts

Have fields as my backup, but just wanted to get an idea of what most people think happens in this situation. Does fields benefit more from going against these guys last year or vice versa or does it make itself a wash?

Not sure if it matters at all but I'm high on Fields this season. Who's your starter?

Is that a designer drug that gets you *high on Fields*?

I’m playing him over Nix.  I get it’s not a great matchup on paper, but this is a revenge game for him.  He’s the best running QB in the league, and back with his college go to WR.

I guess Rodgers is in the same boat Vs the Jets, this game could be the highest scoring game ever.

Oh, I know!  That poor baby.  I just wish one of these teams would give him the weapons he needs to win and prove once and for all he IS better than Brett.  It’s just so sad, and he’s been so mistreated.  I hope he’s able to hold back the tears in the post game interview to tell us all how it’s not his fault.

I had forgotten about that part with him and Wilson. That def could only help things for fields. Does anyone know why Rodgers would still want to play after last year? Beyond me

If he makes a deep playoff run, it'll be Rodgers way of saying screw you to Green Bay.

Rodgers is kind of like the NFL's version of LeBron James, he just never goes away...

And when he doesn’t it’ll be Green Bay’s way of saying “see it wasn’t the talent around you…it WAS you”.

Rodgers problem is his ego, and always has been.  You saw it on draft night in 2005 when he was sulking in the green room waiting…. He so badly wants to be “something”.  He isn’t the best QB of his generation, he isn’t the best QB his franchise has ever had, and now he’s desperately trying to end his career the way Favre, Warner, Brady, and Manning did..as a winner for another team.  But he just isn’t that either.  Dude is a head case that was a good NFL QB at one time.  He’s never going to hear anyone say “he was the best….whatever”, and it’s killing him.  Bye bye !

It’s really not reliable to get inside players’ head, their motivation or the like. Who knows. But if Fields knows PIT, PIT & really Tomlin know Fields. Tomlin will completely gameplan for Fields.

Fields is always a good Fantasy start regardless.

About 50% of his starts last season as he a good start.  Out of his six starts he produced less than 20 points three times.  So differently not always.

you never really told us what your alternative is.

you said fields is your backup.   so who is your starter?

we need to know what your alternatives.   if your starter is (for example) Aaron Rodgers, the answer could be different than if your starting QB is Baker Mayfield.

Pretty much what I expected from Fields so far.  I hope everyone took my advice.

at his age, the odds were against him.   still are.

but I dont mind seeing him play well.  I do hope he does.

but ego is a common issue in sport.  coaches have to massage and work the ego to keep players in the headspace they need to be in to succeed.

Fields is Fantasy Gold

he sure had a good game today.

sadly he is on my bench this week.

He and Herbert both on my bench in different leagues as they are backups.    but very good backups.

I did start Caleb this week so hoping to pull it out. Glad to see fields do well even though on bench. Good to have 2 good options

I watched most of the NYJ/Pitt game.  Fields look good throwing the ball.  The long throw to Wilson for his first TD had great touch on it.  If he has taken even the slightest step forward in passing, he’s going to finish QB top 3.

yeah, nice job on my bench Fields. Couldn't start him over J Daniels though. still won

I started Bo Nix over him 😩

I should still win this week, the fact that it's even in any sort of jeopardy is that brutal mistake

Nice showing. Let's see how he does week 2 and 3? I took him at the end of auction so I didn't have to spend more then a buck for my 3rd QB, but who knows, maybe he'll be a 1 dollar keeper next year. Go Fields!

he is.

his run abilty takes his subpar pass numbers and turns them into a good fantasy day.

his efficiency overall was decent.   16/22.    1 TD no INT.

but what made this good fantasy wise is you add his 48 yards rushing and 2 TD.

but he needs to win games.   in this case he ran into a highly motovated Aaron Rodgers who had a real good game.   He needs to find a way to win these games.

It sounds crazy but he puts up Jalen Hurts looking numbers. Not at that caliber but you get what I'm saying

Yeah he does put up similar numbers to Hurts.

He doesn't have the dominating supporting cast that Hurts does, which will lead to more inconsistency. His weekly upside though I think could be even higher

Exactly. I'd call him a poor Man's Jalen Hurts.

He definitely relies on the rushing production more than Hurts but I've always loved Fields in Fantasy, he's always affordable.
