Once again, AI is coming for everyone's job. I'm going to keep saying it. Thank GOD I have about 3.5 years left in the job market. And if I lost my job tomorrow, I would be fine. Work 20-25 hours a week. This almost feels like retirement. No reason to stop. Princess sandy took 20 hours of surveys online this week. Made a whole $12 worth of coupons towards her favorite cosmetics.

I'll get my 25 years in where I'm at just before I turn 65. I'm hoping to scale back to part time and arrange my schedule such that I can take a week off or more at a time without using PTO. I don't care about working as long as I still have time for all the other crap I wanna do.

Installing a toilet isn't hard. Hell, Plumber robot AI will do it faster, better and cheaper since it can be designed with all the tools needed.

It’s progressed fast and it’s very impressive. But that last 5% which takes it from something cool in a lab to actual in world use is far away. Drones of a version of them have been around since WW2, it took almost another 100 years for adoption by civilians and we still don’t have automated drone deliveries on a mass scale. Honestly, just like any tech it will ultimately create more jobs but it will displace the older workforce. Either way, this is still 30-50+ years out. Maybe more. People can order an autonomous car to their house and take them to their destination. I would argue it's much closer than people realize. That last 5% isn't so far when the learning doubles every year.

If you are talking about installing a toilet only. That takes a human about 20 minutes.

I may disagree with @Cdub100 on a lot of things politically but he is closer to right on the AI stuff. We as a society are basically training robots to take our jobs from us and everything. The issue will become then that the job need will change and you won't have enough people to fill those needs which will lead to more robots and innovation. I'm not saying it will happen in my lifetime per se but it is coming and it is permeating more sectors of society than people want to admit at this point. I am just glad that I am at a point in life where all that will have little impact on me and perhaps my career field. I could see how it would be automated, but really relationships are at the center of everything.

Lol Difficult if you know what you are doing? Nope. Difficult if you are just a dumb internet jew hater? Yep. Toilets are more than ten years away technology wise because you need something mobil with amazing limb dexterity that can work in super tight spaces and handle a super wide array of unseen variables. We will have toilets that clean your butt on voice command before we have robots replacing them. Now perhaps a company like hajoca that gets contracts for things like all brand new wal marts could get there for new construction because you have a wide open space and everything is new and super similar and they follow a pattern. But that isnt replacement. No sir, we are very far away from robots doing that.

When the Internet went public in the 90s and took off in the 2000 is most people had no idea what it would become as fast as it did. Then the mobile wave took over. We went from computers on a desk to computer in our pockets. We are now in the AI wave. The best AI we don't have access to has a super genius intelligence. Once AI figures out mobility past cars and planes things will really kick off for job loss. I watch the garbage man come every Friday. There is zero reason that won't be automated soon. I see it for everything. It's one reason I'm thinking about opening up a gym. That will be an AI proof business for now until the younger generation grows up used to AI and they won't mind learning from a machine.
