I had to open it on through the app to get sound.  So look it's a terrible thing to say.  He said it to be shocking.  If your child was killed in a school, it's  a terrible thing for a parent to hear.  But I do get his point.  With the cars comparison, we have gone through great lengths to make driving safer and we continue to do so.  The right opposes anything that will reduce gun deaths, so it's a flawed comparison.  Add in the fact that you will never be able to defend yourself against the US Military these days.  Another flawed defense of dead kids.

A sad fact - Kirk had enemies on the far right. It’s true, he was hated & reviled as a traitor, and that was because of the Israel stance but also look at that clip by Raiders above. How do you think that clip flies with extreme evangelicals?

the point is that it was during a discussion on the 2A, there was not a single mention of kids.  And we have 100's of gun laws, we continue to add them and it does nothing

and Ukraine has done a pretty good job defending itself from Russia with armed citizenry

its still 50000 car deaths which is 4x more per year than guns

it means that you get the job over someone with more hours, better scores etc only cause you check a box

I think I get the point Ron is trying to make- although I think the way he is making it is weird and undercutting him.

Do we know there are defined looser restrictions for a prospective black pilot versus a white one. I mean I can see affirmative action or DEI in principle if you are at a company and someone gets promoted having a year of experience versus 10 years of experience solely because of the color of their skin. That is problematic.

But for being a pilot- are they changing the test requirements for someone? Are they making the pathway easier for a black pilot? I guess the question is- are they truly hiring someone with limited flight hours because of the color of their skin. I somehow doubt that is specifically what is happening.

Wasn't talking to you specifically, Kirk who said this, and others have repeated it.  So here's the problem.  Why has DEI put this in people's heads?  Because people like Kirk say it, and it spreads on social media, and they repeat it.  You think anyone is going to read the DEI policy of United to see for themselves?  Hell even a simple google search will tell you it's true.  But the lies spread anyway, which is a problem, and which is why people are holding Kirk accountable for it.  The trust has been eroded not because of DEI, but because of people like Kirk that question the qualifications of black people.

My point was the far left cannot be reasoned with. It doesn't mean war is the only way to deal with them, but we need enough people on the side of common sense so it doesn't come to that.
