I dont even think it has to be that they are appeasing the industry. I think they are just buying votes. Force the cost to go way up. Then give people free healthcare. It is just a massive handout. The costs dont matter to them. In fact the more expensive it gets, the bigger the handout.

Trump tried to reform healthcare in his first term and ran in to a brick wall.  I posted earlier about a deal he just announced with Pfizer that will help with drug costs.  You ignored it.  He's only been back in office 9 months and has been cleaning up other messes Biden left him.  I hope he does more with healthcare but he's already done more than Biden.

The healthcare system is a racket...

Go in and get a surgery.  They want to treat everything like it's a separate thing.  Operating Room, anesthesia, the chick that spends 2 seconds popping into a room to ask about some BS.   All the same hospital, but some are in network and some are out of network. They act like all of that is some separate sh¡t and bill you accordingly.  Meanwhile they don't even ask if you want some lady to pop in or give you any options.  They just do sh¡t.  So basically if you're in the hospital, every doctor in the hospital can pop in and ask you a question and then they can all bill you some BS.  The system is a joke and the hospitals are taking advantage.

Like you're going in for a surgery.  Presumably, you shopped around for the surgeon.  Now you have to shop around for an anesthesiologist too?  And then what?  You need a guard standing outside your door so some rando doctor can't just pop in and "check on you."  Get the fock outta here.

Do you know anything about this pfizer deal?  TrumpRx?  If it happens, it will allow consumers without insurance to buy drugs directly from Pfizer at a discount, which will undoubtedly be higher than what was negotiated by insurance.  It's another scam that will amount to nothing, but I didn't expect you to know this.  Now you do.

Also with regards to what Biden did?  Biden brought forth actual presciption discounts including $35/mo insulin and allowing medicaire to negotiate prices.  He also passed ACA subsidies making it cheaper for people to afford health insurance which expanded enrollment by 12M people.  Of course republicans are letting this expire, which is what we're talking about here.

Trump's plan was voluntary, meaning that he asked insurers to cap pricing at $35/mo.  It had little effect.

Biden through the Inflation Reduction Act made it mandatory, and removed deductibles as well, providing real effect and savings.
