Disney attendance plunges to all-time low for 2025 as visitors report 'ghost towns' at parks

Recommended Posts

Walt Disney World logged its slowest three-week stretch of the year in September, putting it on track to be the quietest month since 2021.

Crowd tracker data for mid-August through mid-September shows average waits dropped to about 24 minutes per ride, even shorter than during the July 4 holiday, according to posted times from Disney's My Disney Experience app, aggregated by third-party tracker Thrill-Data and analyzed by Disney Tourist Blog.

On TikTok, some visitors described the parks as "ghost towns

"I'm at Magic Kingdom right now, and this place is a tomb," one user said.

"There is literally nobody here. There is no wait time for anything. Space Mountain — walk on. Haunted Mansion — walk on. Pirates of the Caribbean — walk on."

Didn't most schools open in mid-late August? That would certainly explain the drop in attendance.

I know thinking can be hard for you but you can compare numbers this year to previous years on the same days, weeks and months.

The wokeness finally kicked in?

Actually it's several things.  No international travelers since they are boycotting America.  General post COVID post 50th decline.  And yeah people need to save money because prices of everything keep going up and people are losing jobs now.

No they don't. Well, only the sheep liberals do. But we already knew that. And don't care.

Liberals have been "kicked" into it for quite a while now. Many years actually.

Glad you are all are getting beat down now though.

Exactly. That's why when the current quarter earnings report comes out, disney will say that year over year (YOY) attendance was down.

I would think this is the most important reason. Canadians continue to boycott us among others.

It’s simply amazing to me how much damage Donald Trump has done to our economy.

No, it's the ridiculous prices Disney charges combined with so much construction and ride closures.  After price gouging you, they make it a total pain in the ass just ride the most popular rides too.  Iger focked that whole place up.

Are the prices much higher than a year ago? Is the construction much worse? I doubt it. You need to stop making excuses when the answer is so obvious.

Do you look anything up before you run your mouth?  An entire land is closed at Animal Kingdom.  I think there are 5 rides left in the park.  The entire area where the Muppets were is closed at Hollywood Studios and Rock N Roller Coaster will close in the coming weeks.  Big Thunder Mountain has been closed for a while and now the entire Tom Sawyer island and riverboat is closed as well as half the train ride.  I think Buzz Lightyear is closed now too.   Epcot just re-opened Test Track and closed Spaceship Earth.

Ticket prices were raised in 2025 from 2024 as well.  They used to make you get up at 655am for the right to purchase lightning lanes and you weren't even guaranteed getting one for the best rides.  No one wants to do that on vacation.  They finally changed it so you can book in advance.  You get advanced booking and to select the better times if you pay them to stay on their property.  I can't comment if you're guaranteed success on that as I haven't tried it and haven't researched others success rates.

But carry on with your blaming Trump nonsense.  This crowd issue with Disney started before Trump took office too.  Iger ruined that place.

In october 2024 Disneyland annual passes went up as much as 20% depending on the pass. Ticket prices went up 6% and crossed the 200 dollar mark for the very first time.

In october 2024 disney world saw increases between 6-9%.

2024? Thats last year. Trump made the prices go up then? And the year before? And the year before that? He’s amazing.

You guys will look for any reason, any excuse to avoid pining blame on Trump. It’s laughable. Tourism is down, Disney is down, Vegas is down. The world is boycotting us. That’s the main reason. Get used to it because we have 3 more years of this sh!t.

We just listed the reasons you focktard.  Disney was well before Trump even won the election.  Like most topics you came in shooting off your mouth and look like a complete idiot again.  Either just say my bad or log the f out and leave the thread.  You have no clue what you're talking about.

Here is the Fox News link - https://www.foxnews.com/travel/disney-attendance-plunges-all-time-low-2025-visitors-report-ghost-towns-parks

Looks like the article is based on a Tik Tok video and a blog post.  Imagine what Strike would say if someone posted a CNN article here based on a tik tok video and blog post?

I actually think these Disney blogs can be good sources though (random TikTok videos, probably not). This one is the basis for this article:

https://www.disneytouristblog.com/slowest-three-weeks-disney-world-2025/?utm_source=chatgpt.com

First of all, apparently the “all time low” is referring to 2025 only, so that claim is in fact not comparing to previous years.

Some other quotes from the article:

August has been the slowest full month of 2025 to date, with a 28 minute average wait time and 1/10 crowd level. Those numbers are actually identical with last August, so in this case, flat attendance does correspond with flat wait times.

Halfway through the month, September 2025 is poised to take the “crown” from August. This month is currently sitting at an average wait time of 24 minutes, which is also a 1/10 crowd level. Just a lower one. If this trend holds, September 2025 would be the slowest month since September 2021. That was back before the 50th Anniversary, amidst COVID cancellations due to the Delta wave and reinstated mask rules.

It’s going to be a really close call. The second half of September is almost always busier than the first half, and we expect an uptick in crowds for the next couple of weeks for a variety of reasons discussed below. My bet is that September ends up coming within one minute of last September and October.

So, August was actually flat vs LY.  And the claim that September is “on track” to be the slowest month since 2021 is misleading as the article notes that the second half is historically busier than the first and it will likely end up similar to LY. At first glance I don’t see if they’ve written an update to how September finished.

So, Disney isn’t going broke.  @BrahmaBulls wrong again.  Fortunately that indicates Trump hasn’t crashed the economy yet.

Well the only pedo I post about is Trump, so if you're gonna say I post about pedos all day then you're acknowledging Trump is a pedo.  It's simple logic.

With regards to Disneyworld, you clearly have knowledge about the parks so you've either been there recently or you did a bunch of research.  Either one is weird for someone that claims to have a hatred of Disney.  So which is it?
