I certainly don't fit the description of what you consider an American, and you certainly don't fit mine, that being accepting of all lawful and unhating people regardless of their race, religion, sexual preferences and gender identification. What our president is doing is taking that in the opposite direction. 

One thing that we all seem to agree upon is the release of the Epstein files, but here we have Trump today saying he will consider pardoning Maxwell, despite pedophilia being an important issue to MAGAs.

I know that those decisively convicted of sex trafficking and funneling minors to pedophiles deserve hard time in prison instead of the penal equivalent of a country club, and they should not even remotely enter the presidential-pardon discussion.

I will agree it's a bit of an overstatement, but what Trump is doing to this country far eclipses the democracy threat that was Jan. 6, which indeed was a threat because the purpose was to derail the democratic process and hunt down and kill those standing in their way.
