Trump's World (Trump News & Discussion Thread)

Recommended Posts

The story is true, all of it, including the extreme vetting, though that’s my interpretation based on the length of time and the family’s description of the long interviews and paperwork required.

I really don’t care whether you believe me or not. I don’t think you have credibility to question my integrity or anyone else’s. The bigger issue, FOR YOU, is whether or not you support what Trump is doing with regard to the thousands of Afghan refugees in this country. I added “for you” because it’s not a big issue for me or anyone else reading this; again, you lack the credibility or integrity for that to be the case. But it’s a big issue for you, or should be, if you want to decide what kind of person you ultimately want to be.

Who interviewed them?

Since you have expressed your support for Trump on this issue, and your desire to see this family and thousands of others sent back to Afghanistan where they will most likely be imprisoned or executed, I have no desire to answer any further of your questions.

“This was a family of refugees: the father worked in Kabul at the American hospital and because of this was marked for death by the Taliban.”

These people were definitely vetted by the Taliban, tell you that much. They worked for Americans, saved Americans & helped them, probably hold American- aligned democratic beliefs. I wonder what you think would be lacking here.

For those who may have missed Trump's Truth Social post in the Rob Reiner thread (or have not been reading that thread).

There is no lacking as far as I’m concerned. The answer is you can’t come here. Too may snakes hiding in the grass. Stay in Pakistan.  Oh wait, they are throwing all the afghans out. Iran as well.  Bigots.

It’s amazing that somebody could respond to my last post with laughter. You have to wonder what kind of person you are that would do that. Guess nothing should surprise me anymore.

Here we go.  The rejected women from FBG campaigning and complaining about emoji use now.

I’d be pretty amused to see what the KnowNothings & KKK back in the day had to say about the peoples from your background that landed on these shores. Mine too. Same old arguments, yet here we are.

You’re just wrong. My people weren’t chanting death to America and knocking down buildings. And they certainly weren’t going on welfare. And no one flew them here.

I didn’t suggest that. Mine either. But it’s an historical fact that Germans, Bohemians, Acadians, Poles, Italians & Sicilians, Greeks, Iberians, Irish, Slavs, Scandinavians, Asians, just Catholics or Jews or Mormons from wherever, were told to stay out at one point or another just about everywhere in this country. If you’re 100% Mayflower congrats but if it was just those people here then this country wouldn’t exist today & 99% of what got built wouldn’t have ever been.

All people from all countries and cultures are the same. No one is better than the other, right?

Hm, I’m not sure about that. To me it’s not culture, it’s ideology. A communist from a thatched stone hut in Namibia or Scotland is not the same as a democracy loving person from the hut next door.

Then why are some countries just disgusting and others have driverless cars?

Disgusting for who? Being super wealthy in Dakar is maybe better than being super wealthy in Chicago. It’s the poor who take the brunt in those countries even though the wealthy are the same background.

During the debate about the El Salvador torture/mega-prison I found it amusing that Bukele was an immigrant (or from an immigrant family) from Lebanon (or Syria). How do you think that happened? ~>Money. In El Salvador or Nicaragua you can live like a king if you’re wealthy.

Sorry I thought I was being real. To answer your question the way *you would like, the reason some countries have worse GDP’s is in my opinion because of 1. Rule of Law, & 2. Natural Resources. - If you want to divert back to culture, see my original answer which points out that some of the wealthiest people in the world come from those same cultures. Peter Thiel & Elon Musk come from South Africa as another example.

And if you still don’t think I’m being mature or real enough do a google map view of Dubai, which used to be stone & dirt. Link.

The comparison of Trump to Hitler is obviously lazy. They are not comparable. I understand not liking the guy, but the comparison of Hitler has obviously been to make people more polarized and more angry. Come up with something less lazy.

They were chanting Hang Mike Pence, breaking into federal buildings, assaulting police and smearing sh1t on walls.  Then they were pardoned.

This is why he thinks college campuses all lock their teaching halls 24/7.

Trump and His Loyalists Move to Name the Kennedy Center for Him

The Kennedy Center board, composed almost entirely of President Trump’s allies, voted on Thursday to change the name of the performing arts center to the Trump-Kennedy Center, the White House press secretary said.

It was not immediately clear what effect the vote would have, but it would not officially change the name of the center, which is by law designated the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, asserted that the board’s vote was unanimous, but Representative Joyce Beatty of Ohio, a Democrat who is one of the lawmakers granted a spot on the board, said on social media that she “was muted on the call and not allowed to speak or voice my opposition.”

It has been generally understood that the power to change the center’s name lies with Congress. Republican lawmakers in the House had advanced a proposal earlier this year to rename the center’s Opera House after Melania Trump, the first lady. Another bill by a House Republican also proposed renaming the entire center the Donald J. Trump Center for the Performing Arts.

The vote on Thursday was the latest effort by Mr. Trump to remake the center in his image. Earlier this year, Mr. Trump purged the board of members appointed by his predecessor, President Joseph R. Biden Jr., and installed himself as its chairman.

There are still ways Trump could turn this around. All he has to do is:

1. Call off all the tariffs.
2. Call off ICE

3. come up with an amnesty plan for all non violent undocumented immigrants.
4. Extend the ACA subsidies for 2 years while you work out a universal health care plan.
5. Come up with reasonable controls for AI.

He does all this he could save the GOP.

But then he wouldn't be lining his own pockets nearly as efficiently. This is a non-starter. It's not like he GAF about the Republican party or anyone in it. They are a means to an end, no more.
