Parks & Rec/The Office fans - which was better?

I got into a debate this week about this topic and want to see where this community stands. For the record,  I’m in the Parks & Rec group.

Parks and Rec was good…But The Office is an all-time great IMO

never was a fan of the office. I casually started watching parks and rec several years ago and thought it was good. Casually as in I sort of let it play and would definitely miss episodes. I think last year I tried watching it from the start again and found myself not nearly as entertained. I think I just don't really care for the mockumentary style. The Paper is also pretty bad from the episodes i've seen

Peak Office was some of the best TV of all time, but it also really dipped in quality towards the end.

P&R didn't reach its heights, but it also didn't have the falloff that the Office did. It also took longer to hit its stride (the beginning of the April & Andy relationship is where I put it).

I voted Office but to be fair I only seen a ep or two of Parks.

This.  Asked the wife and she agrees.  She thinks top to bottom the characters in The Office are better.  But I pointed out that Ron Swanson is one of the best characters of all time.  But I think you can argue that Michael Scott is THE best character of all time.  His departure towards the end is why it went downhill.

Yep. Actually am not sure if I even watched the last season when it was on TV. But rewatched from the start last year or so on flights. Laughed out loud numerous times. 

On the rewatch it kind of petered out again after Michael left.
